Does anyone know the expected ending level of the Greyhawk Ruins? I have been looking, but had no success in finding any clues to what level a character can expect to acheive after completing all the mods.

I am planning my greyhawk ruin character, and intend to retire him after completion of the arc so ending level will have a big impact on the build.

I think the idea is that the mods in the arc lead in to an adaptation of the Expedition to the Ruins of Greyhawk - a character would have to play some extra modules on top of the ones in the arc but they shouldn't need many to be of an apropriate level for the adaption. I think that means characters would be about 8th level going in to the adaption. As for the adaption itself I've no idea how much xp you'd get from that.

Yea, that ADP's total XP is what I was most interested in.

As that module hasn't even come onto the retail market yet (much less been addressed by the Circle), I suspect you're jumping the gun with your question.

That is most certainly not what it says, particularly since (as noted) the adaptable document has barely been started (if at all), much less finished.

Expedition is for characters of levels 8-13, that does not mean it takes an 8th level character all the way to 13. That would make it larger than RHoD, which itself takes up 51 TUs...

The Greyhawk Ruins sourcebook isn't even coming out until June of 2007, and the Adaptable Document for Expedition will come out a decent while after that. (And that's According to Britt (http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=802269))

I was refering to the En World discussion of the Expedition to the Ruins of Greywhawk that says the full superadventure gives upwards of 50k xp.

If that is infact correct, and you combine that with the LG info released thusfare stating the core arc modules leading up to the ADP will bring you into the range of level 8 you can figure your character is not going to end above level 13.

Considering the circle does very little to change the ADPs in order to save the original theme and to keep the ADP conversion as simple as possible, I'd say that the original version will be a close to Expedition to Ruins of Greyhawk book and therefore have similar xp rewards.

A ball park ending level was the info I was seeking, and I have not found anything outside of the En World discussions that give any info on the Expeditions XP rewards.

50K xp from APL 8-12 is roughly 76 TUs...25 more than RHoD.

I don't agree in the slightest, The adaptables definitely don't grant all available XP to LG Characters.

Scourge of the Howling Horde and RHoD both have far more available XP than an LG character can gain. Just because Expedition as written offers 50K xp doesn't mean LG characters will be able to gain it all.

I think it's likely that the ADP for Expedition to the Ruins of Greyhawk will follow the shortest possible adaptation of the module, or possibly as a superadventure of many parts like the Red Hand of Doom. The two Expeditions they've released thus far both have advice on how to run the module as a shorter adventure or even as a one-shot.

Personally, I'm in favour of the abridged version. Judging RHoD has been some of the most physically taxing gaming I've ever done, due to the pressure to get each part wrapped up in a single session. Eight to ten hours sitting behind the screen takes its toll.
