Retirement date 31Dec06? Seriously?

Having two months to play this makes it really difficult to play it before you run it, especially when my 8th level has 2 TU and my 12th level has 3 TU. And those are already spoken for. (I don't know the TU cost on this one, but I'm sure it's similiar to Fane.)

I really wish we would have more time to plan for this, or more time to play it. I think that I might be able to squeeze a table to run this for my group, and that's iffy for a table of 4.

I'm not complaining about the extra play opportunities, I think they're great. But I think the timing issue could be done better. It's kinda frustrating to see these cool things to play, and not be able to play them because you don't have the TUs and they retire before the end of the year. I'd almost say its better to just not have them than be teased by this stuff. I'm beginning to feel lucky that I was able to play Fane.

I know that the Circle doesn't have a free hand on these, so I don't blame them.

It's also possible that it's a typo. Note that Fane of the Drow is available through the end of 2007. Let's see if they get it fixed before jumping up and down about it.

I believe they fixed it to end of 2007. Does anyone know the TU cost for this adventure? Thanks.

The RPGA Announcement page is quite good.

But they forgot the TUs.

7 TUs according to my Triad.

Question. What if your party ends up APL10 since Hellspike ADP is only 8 or 12?

What if your party ends up APL10 since Hellspike ADP is only 8 or 12?

1) Actually it's APL9 or APL12. There were conflicting posts, but this has been verified.

2) Ask your Judge. They will have the package that comes with the gameday order. This should explain if there is a breakpoint where a party is forced up or down.

Hellspike is in a unique position for the ADPs. None of the others (to date) offer multiple APLs. It's possible that the Circle hasn't ruled on this yet.

I would guess that a party with a calculated APL of less than 10.5 would play APL9; but 10.5 and up would play APL12. Or maybe you're allowed to choose if you're in the 10-11 range?

Note that ADPs use typical LG rules for PC levels. 3 (or more) levels higher / lower than APL nets 1/2 GP and 1/2 XP. More than 4 levels above the max APL means you can't play - not relevant here because level 16 is retirement.

ya they would be able to choose which way to go if they are 10.5. technically you can round down so they would go to 9. i would not recommend playing up in this case.
