07-09-06, 10:41 AM Well folks, I'm having a bit of trouble here. I have a Fighter, and I'm unsure about what to do. I want him to multi-class, or even to gain a few levels of a Prestige Class. One problem: I'm having trouble looking for a path here.

He's a Human. Strength 16, Dexterity 14, Constitution 14, Intelligence 10, Wisdom 10, Charisma 10. I'm looking for a powerful fighter- something that can take a beast down in a few turns. I'm not much a tank, such and such.

Starting feats I've picked are Toughness, Power Attack, and Weapon Focus (Greatsword).

Switch to Intelligence 12, Wisdom 10, Charisma 8. Maybe go down to Constitution 12, and get Intelligence 14. Switch Toughness with Combat Expertise. I'm thinking of taking a bit of Sorcerer, getting a Mithral Chain Shirt (10% Spell Failure) and have Fighter 3, Sorcerer 3. At achieving of Level 7, I'll take Spellsword 1. The spell failure will be nullified. I'll take the 10% failure until Level 7, relying mostly on physical abilities.

Or should I take Warmage? Granted, they ignore light armor failure- but their repetoire of spells isn't good- at all. What do you think? What would YOU recommend?

07-09-06, 11:33 PM Okay, some suggestions.

1: ditch toughness. It -may- be worthwhile for Wizards and Sorcerers, but for a Fighter, there's better things you could be doing with those feats than worrying about an extra 3 hitpoints.

2: Never stop at an odd level of fighter (possible exception for Fighter 1). Either find something else to do with that level, or go 1 more for the next bonus feat.

3: a Sorcerer doesn't get 2nd level spells until 4th level anyway. Then again, a Sorcerer needs Charisma, not Int to cast spells. Did you mean Wizard?

4: if you're going to go Spellsword, I'd probably lower your Strength and raise something else. Not that fond of Spellsword myself, though, so there's limits to how much advice I can offer.

3) Cherry-pick a level of Barbarian
4) If you want magic go with the war mage
5) Best Prestige Class for my suggestion is Bear Warror

You'll have to pick one, take Combat Expertise or have an Intelligence of 8. Can't have both.
