Does anybody know if this is a 2 TU or 4 TU mod. My DM told me it's a 4 TU mod. I thought specials were only 2 TU's. Thanks.

It is a 2-round core special...being core, that's 2 TU per round..being 2 rounds that makes it 4 TU's

Thanks GorTex, that makes my decision easier on the character I will play.

It's not an easy mod. Take care....

The low-APL version isn't too bad. The higher-APL...well, I've heard it referred to as "Here There Be Casualties." ;)

Just look into the play history, there should be a homeplay event called "Here there be TPK"

Definately play the low level mod.

The mid-APL version (8-12) is scary, but a lot of fun. My APL 10 table had a fantastic time: it remains one of my favourite mods ever. The roleplaying was great, and the combats were so challenging that we felt an immense sense of satisfaction when we defeated them. Our GM did a very good job though - you don't want to play some of those encounters with an unprepared GM.

When I ran it, the fights took us so long that it wasn't funny. The players were being taken down and the cleric was running around healing non-stop at each battle... Only module I ever ran that the players used 27 charges of their cure wand in one battle and that was early in the final chapter.

Our party tackled it at APL 14. It was quite an experience. There were some very hairy moments, but in the end all the PCs emerged unscathed with some stories to tell. Characteristic quotes:

"How does something that shape get levels in that?"

[Different encounter] "It just did what? On top of everything else, this thing has a class?"

and

"There's one of those? As well?"
