| Ariante08-29-06, 03:18 PM | Is there any chance of the Fantastic Locations series including a few high level (as in APL14 or even 16) scenarios? That would be ever so cool :) |
| kenobi6508-29-06, 03:27 PM | Probably a question best asked of the D&D product team; with the ADPs, the LG staff is only working with what they're dealt. |
| TimRat09-06-06, 01:04 PM | yadragondown grotto is APL 10. the next one may be even higher level however but until i see it i cant tell you. |
| chesspiece09-06-06, 01:19 PM | IIRC, Hellspike Prison comes in APL9 and APL12 (thanks to a WotC web enhancement). If the Circle continues with the ADP program and does some of the Expedition modules, I expect that we'll see some that cover higher levels. (i.e. Expedition to the Demonweb Pits) Cheers, Stephen Martin |

Thanks for the response :) I was mostly hoping you'd have a sort of release schedule for next year (I'm sure WotC has) but I guess I'll just have to be patient :D |

Here's what I have so far: Fane of the Drow: APL4 Fields of Ruin: APL8 Red Hand of Doom: starts at APL6, finishes at APL9. Hellspike Prison: APL9 (or 12 with web enhancement) Dragonsdown Grotto: APL10 If the Circle continues with the ADP program and does some of the Expedition modules, I expect that we'll see some that cover higher levels. (i.e. Expedition to the Demonweb Pits) Here's to hoping! |
| chesspiece09-06-06, 04:18 PM | The Circle is already ruling out Ravenloft. I’m not surprised. There’s no Judge gonna convince me to feed my LG PCs to Strahd. (I think I’ll just create a brand new PC at 6th level. Create another one? Sure, why not.) Fantastic Locations – Frostfell Rift (December). Levels??? It seems like they’re slowing down on the Fantastic Locations – there aren’t any others announced through to April. City of Peril (April 2007) could be the FL substitute. It mentions being designed for various levels of play so it might not be simple enough to convert to LG. Expedition to the Demonweb Pits (April 2007). Levels 9-12. It doesn’t state a campaign world, but the original was set in Greyhawk. It says there's a fair bit of planar travel. (Can I be the first to call this module “Spiders on a Plane”? Okay, you can shoot me for that one.) :P Scourge of the Howling Horde (November). Level 1. It appears to be non-specific and sounds like it leads into: The Shattered Gates of Slaughtergarde (December). Levels 2-7. Again, no mention of campaign and the Products page lists them as generic D&D. Barrow of the Forgotten King (February 2007). Level 2. No mention of a campaign world. The first of a 3-part series but can stand alone. I'm a little skeptical that we'll see many APL14+ modules come out of WotC. I believe their research indicated that most games are played in the 1-12 range - so that's probably where they'll focus their efforts. That being said, Paizo has done well with their 1-20 campaign arcs. In fact, I heard that WotC might try doing this again. |

With the ease of Greater Turning (Sun Domain, Disciple of the Sun feat, Radiant Servant Prestige Class), it could be a round one knock out. |

Oh, and *Bang* for the movie reference ;) I'm a little skeptical that we'll see many APL14+ modules come out of WotC. I believe their research indicated that most games are played in the 1-12 range - so that's probably where they'll focus their efforts. I'm mostly just hopefull, seeing the very limited amount of high-level (APL14+) LG scenarios (about a dozen every year -if I'm lucky), and the increasing number of high level PCs I have (one right now, 2 before the end of the year, 3 a year from now, and 4 a year after that -barring deaths of course). High-level adaptables would be a welcome addition. That being said, Paizo has done well with their 1-20 campaign arcs. In fact, I heard that WotC might try doing this again. Good! Once again, here's to hoping! |
