Not that it affects me as my highest level character is only 7th level, but the rules for the High Level Campaign are now out.

More information, and links to the rules document here: http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=lg/lgcn/20061003a

The first adventure framework hasn't been released yet so there's still a while to wait, but the rules for converting characters to the high-level rules and a conversion AR are there.

I see that the price for selling items is nonstandard, whether by error or by intent. In the standard game, consistent with core rules, you sell an item for half market price, whether crafted or not. In these HL rules, you sell for half of what you paid, thus 1/4 or 3/8 of market price if crafted.

I do kind of wondered why they wasted text on the bit about XP penalty characters. People who don't go to Winter Fantasy every year will take 3 full years to gain one level with only 3 modules a year, while those that do go will gain one level every 2 years playing the 4 modules per year. Taking a mere 8 years to retire out of the high level campaign.

I guess they were worried about that ONE GUY with an 80 percent XP penalty trying to play some character for 40 years. :D

I wish they would publish and make all the mods for the high level campaign. As it is I think the players have to make the mods, therefore, they can not play it.:weep:

Most LG players actually don't have any retired characters, so finding someone to run them rather than play shouldn't be much of a problem.

Something like that has already been happening with my group. People who do not have high-level characters have been DMing the APL 10-16 modules. Kudos to them. I can still see the problem for the sort of group where everyone has been playing since Year 1 or 2 without turn-over or expansion so that everyone has retired PCs, though.
