Whats the highest strength you can get a PC to have? To set the bar, I'll post my idea for a build, which uses the Bear Warrior and Warshaper PrC's.

Half-Orc Barbarian 5/Fighter 2/Bear Warrior 5/Warshaper 2

Starting Str: 20
3 lvl boosts: +3
Brown Bear Form (Lvl 5 BW): +16
Morphic Body (Lvl 2 WS): +4
Total Str at Lvl 14: 43!

I would have included a Belt of Giant's Strength, but it would stop functioning when he went into bear form.

The Build:

Starting Stats:

Str 20
Dex 14
Con 14
Int 6
Wis 8
Cha 6

Lvl 1 Barbarian Feat: Power Attack
Lvl 2 Barbarian
Lvl 3 Fighter Feat: Improved Bull Rush Bonus Feat: Improved Sunder
Lvl 4 Barbarian Stat Boost: Str
Lvl 5 Barbarian
Lvl 6 Fighter Feat: Combat Brute, Shock Trooper
Lvl 7 Barbarian
Lvl 8 Bear Warrior
Lvl 9 Bear Warrior Feat: Extra Rage
Lvl 10 Bear Warrior
Lvl 11 Bear Warrior
Lvl 12 Bear Warrior Feat: ? Stat Boost: Str
Lvl 13 Warshaper 1
Lvl 14 Warshaper 2

At Lvl 8 this build has a 30 Strength in bear form and he can become a bear anytime he rages. Im not sure if he can power attack in bear form though. Can he?

IIRC, all natural weapons are consdiered light weapons and you can't power attack with a light weapon.

Power Attack specifically allows unarmed strikes or natural weapon attacks to use Power Attack or aka why some Dragons have Power Attack...

You can't add the bonus from Power Attack to the damage dealt with a light weapon(except with unarmed strikes or natural weapon attacks)

30 STR without a weapon doesn't compare to one local player's 32 STR with a greatsword.

He has a base 18 STR, 2 bumps, Reckless Rage and Wild Runner's Primal Scream. Belt of Giant Strength +4. Rages to 32 STR, most often Enlarged in combat for a +12 STR.

It's just sick. Especially when you realize he only bought a 16 STR and got the 18 from Reincarnation turning him from human to wood elf (as though that was fair...).

My wizard pre-emptively Dominates him, just in case someone evil plans to do the same during the course of the adventure. It's not good to have someone that big and beefy trying to strike down his teammates (because he can).

Haven't got this char all the way up yet, but here's currently the build I'm going for.

Centaur(6)/Warmage1/Barb1/DragonDisciple(at least 4)/whatever

Str total
Base 18
Racial 8
Bumps 2 (1 to spare, odd so not counted)
Fist of Stone 6
Dragon Disc 4
Rage 4
Reckless Rage 2
---
44

Thats with Large size using a great falchion as primary weapon.

I have a similar character.

Base 20 Str, 2 bumps, and Reckless Rage. I don't currently own a belt +4, but Bull's Strength is just as good.

When I rage, with the Bull's Strength, I'm 32 Str with a x4 crit weapon.

I always make sure someone has a Protection from Evil spell prepared.

Oh, and I'm only 8th level.

My build for Strongest PC is:

Wood Elf, S 20 [16] D 12 [2] C 12 [6] I 6 [0] W 8 [0] C 12 [4]
Stat bumps to Str
Bbn-Sor-Bbn-Rgr-Rgr, then 10 levels of Dragon Disciple

Feats include Reckless Rage, Extra Rage

At retirement, Str would be 20 (start) + 8 (half-dragon) + 4 (level bumps) + 6 (reckless rage) + 6 (Belt of Strength +6) for 44 Str.

You could add the wildrunner class afterwards, but to get the skill points for the prestige class, you'd need Int 10, which means Dex and Con would be 10 too.

45 is fairly easy. Here's another way:

barbarian1/druid12/warshaper2

Wildshape into a dire bear (str 31), add reckless rage (36), +4 for warshaper2 (40). Now add enhancement bonuses (+4 for bull str) and you are at 44 without breaking a sweat - and you could start as a strength 6 gnome if you wanted, and still accomplish this.

There's probably something with a centaur that can be done....I think an 18 str start on them gets to 26 by level 6. Add reckless rage to 32, +6 belt for 38, two stat bumps to 40 and 4 levels of dragon disciple to 44.

44 (or 45) seems to be the practical limit, and even that takes a pretty warped build and needs reckless rage, so your times/day are limited.

I wasn't going for the most damage. I know a lot of two-handed builds will outdamage this one easily, but my strength, therefore, my Attack rolls, will be ALOT higher.

I'm not sure, but I don't think Reckless Rage stacks with Bear Form. I could be wrong, since I don't have access to the proper book.

Another question: How does my strength bonus work with my natural attacks? Do I get a full bonus with all of them, none of them, or just the bite?

Reckless Rage shouldn't stack with Bear Form because it isn't Rage. It takes the place of Rage.

I believe you get 1.5x your Str bonus on primary natural attacks and .5x your Str bonus on secondary natural attacks.

And high Str and Damage go together, so most characters with a high Str are going to be doing similar damage.

Bar1, monk 4 drunken master 10
wood elf - str 20

belt +6
Stat bump +2

Strength normal: 28

Temporary boni:
reckless rage +6
potion of enlarge +2
drunk - +20

Max Strength: 56

Which ain't too bad for a skinny elf.

Damage from a thrown bottle or bar stool: 2d6+d12+23

...
drunk - +20Not really realistic, though... Move action to retrieve a bottle from a pack, or pick one up off a table, and another move action to drink -- you're only getting to drink one bottle per round (perhaps two on the first round if they were at hand), so it's going to take you a minimum of 9 rounds to add the +20 "drunk" bonus to your strength. In the meantime, unless you also have a 21+ Wisdom AND 21+ Intelligence, you've passed out -- you're forgetting that each bottle you drink also reduces your Wisdom and Intelligence by 2 points, and a creature whose Intelligence or Wisdom are reduced to 0 is unconscious.

Ah...if you want to understand natural attacks, I suggest reading the monster manual section on natural attacks. They are different from normal attacks in a number of ways.

But in a nutshell

1. No iterative attacks based on BAB (you get extra attacks based on extra limbs attacking)

2. One natural weapon only when grappling, unless you have the rake ability (this is unfortunately in the "Rake" description, so read that too). If you lack improved grab, you can attack at -4 to hit once with your nat weapon (no iteratives). If you have improved grab, you can do a grapple check to do your natural weapon damage, or you can do iterative grapple maneuvers with unarmed strike damage (nonlethal, str+damage basedon size), just like a human.

3. If you have only one natural attack (like a wolf or boar, not like a bear in a grapple), then you get strx1.5 damage and 1-1 power attack.

4. "Primary" natural attacks get full BAB on to-hit, 1x strength and 1-1 power attack (very similar to a one-handed weapon used in one hand). What attack is primary varies from animal to animal and an animal may have more than one primary attack. In the case of a bear, the primary attack is the claw, so a bear-warrior or wildshaped dire-bear-druid gets two primary attacks.

5. Secondary natural attacks get BAB-5 to hit, 1/2 strength and 1-1 power attack. In the case of a bear, the only secondary attack it has is a bite.

6. If you somehow mix manufactured weapon use or unarmed strike with natural weapons (example, a monk polymorphed into a bear attacking with improved unarmed strike kicks and then doing claw/claw/bite, or a wizard in troglodyte form using his dagger, a claw and a bite) all of your natural weapons are considered secondary. So even though a bear normally gets primary claws, if a monk is flurry-kicking, his claws are at -5 to hit and half-strength on damage

7. Damage type varies based on type of weapon used. Claws are slashing+piercing. Bite is slash+pierce+bludgeon. Something like a stinger or antler is piercing only. Tentacles and tail slaps do bludgeoning. I've probably forgotten some possibilities.
