I keep reading how you're supposed to "sanction events two weeks in advance on the RPGA website", but I can't seem to find anything regarding sanctioning of events.

Exactly what do you do to sanction an event? Where do you go? Links, contact information very much appreciated.

0) If you aren't already, become an RPGA member (by playing in an RPGA event). Sign in to the members' area (https://events.wizards.com/rpgaweb/external/signon.asp) and take the Herald Level test by clicking on the 'Personal information [etc]' tab and following links to the Judge Center.

1) Log into the members' area, click the top link ('Set up a convention .... [etc, or something similar])

2) Enter the required details. Note that the dates must be in US format (or the month in words) and must be at least five days in advance if it is a home event (set 'Type of show' and 'Location' to 'Home') and at least 14 days in advance if it is a different type of event. Don't worry if you don't know the precise number of sessions - you can add or subtract those when reporting.

3) Select the scenarios you wish to run from the list on the next screen. You can have up to two for a Home game, up to five for a gameday or retail event and up to five per day for a convention. Be sure to check the particular campaign rules to be sure that you are ordering scenarios which you are entitled to run; the system does not always check this. However, only scenarios which are valid on the day(s) of your event will be shown. Click 'Next' or 'Proceed' until you're done.

4) Your event will now show on your members' screen. Three weeks before the scheduled start of your event, there'll be a 'download scenarios' link. Click this to download the scenarios you've ordered for your event. Note that some are just placeholders, often with incorrect information (LG regional/metaregional scenarios, Dungeon magazine adventures etc).

5) Play your event :D

6) When you have played your event, you have to report it. If you want a step by step through that ask again - this message's long enough as it is!

Much obliged.

So there's no separate sanctioning step. Phew . . . :P
