| Dr.Cornelius04-13-07, 03:14 AM | Duskblade and Dragon Shaman are neither open or closed in LGCS 597, meaning they are available through AR or metaorg access. I would really love to give one of these classes a run in LG. I played a Duskblade at 10th level in a couple of one-shot adventures and it was by no means overpowered, especially when compared to an arcane caster or Eldritch Knight. Even the fighter in the same party was much tougher and dished out more sustained damage. Have not tried a Dragon Shaman, but it looks like a cooler version of the Marshall and unlikely to be overpowered. Anyone have G2 on access? |

| Dr.Cornelius04-13-07, 11:19 PM | The link above is all about the merits of wording access as Open and Closed vs. explicitly listing some options as Access Required. Its mostly a debate about which semantic is less confusing. This post, however is requesting practical, specific information for people who would really like to roleplay one of the new base classes. I am not trolling for a specific spoiler, just a hint along the lines of "check out metaorgs in region X" or "play all the mods in series Y" or "look for LG campaign card Z". |

Our discussion over there has nothing to do with your question :D I am not trolling for a specific spoiler, just a hint along the lines of "check out metaorgs in region X" or "play all the mods in series Y" or "look for LG campaign card Z". Even that level of spoiler is against the rules of both the forum and the campaign (at least as it pertains to adventure information, not for Meta-orgs). I have heard that people have access to duskblade, but I know not from where. I haven't even heard of anyone with access to dragon shaman. And I don't know of any metaorgs that give access to either. One (sort of) easy way to figure that out is to just go look at the metaorg books for the various regions and check them out. |

| Simpi04-14-07, 01:06 AM | Before I go looking for a needle in a haystack it would be nice to know that the needle actually exists, and is not just a theoretical construct. It probably does not exist, provided your region follows new MO rules. Sampo Haarlaa Naerie Triad |
| Mithreinmaethor04-14-07, 01:14 AM | I did not play the module. But I think access was given in a core special at Gencon or one of the major cons. And I am pretty sure that mod cant be played anymore. But I could be wrong. I have been before. |
| boolean04-14-07, 01:57 AM | I have heard that people have access to duskblade, but I know not from where. Successfully completing the high level version of "Shadows of the Dread Spiral" gave access. (Technically a spoiler, but a useless one as the module was a convention only Core Special, so it's now retired.) The high level version was APL 10-16, so a character would only get six levels of Duskblade before retirement anyway, and levels in the class wouldn't suit most pre-existing characters anyway. |

| Mithreinmaethor04-14-07, 08:42 AM | How is it legal for a Mod and not for a MetaOrg? Because when the book first hits the market it is free game for module writers to include things from it in modules. By the time the next LGCS comes out after the book is out, some of it may be adopted into the campaign. Unless something gets banned from the book, if you got access to it prior to the LGCS coming out, you can keep that option that was written into a module. Metaorgs however are given guidelines which they most follow when they create the accesses they can give. |
