How to join at lvl 1? [Archive] - Wizards Community

10-04-05, 11:50 PM I've wanted to join the living greyhawk campaign, but everytime I see people posting events its for much higher level characters. How do you join? Do you have to start at level 1 always?

10-05-05, 08:40 AM Yes, all LG characters must be started at 1st level.

Many (though not all) LG modules are playable by 1st level PCs; there are also Introductory Regional adventures that are specifically written to be played by 1st level PCs.

The challenge is sometimes to find a group of low-level PCs to play with, but many LG players have multiple PCs, at a variety of levels, so that they can play at a table, regardless of what the levels of the other PCs are.

1. Any adventure where people are playing at "APL 2" is what you're looking for. Introductory modules (and the adventure Blood on Bright Sands) are designed for 1st-level characters, but are still technically APL 2.

2. If you are in West Michigan as your sig indicates, there are a couple recurring gamedays in your area. www.warhorn.net has some information on CARP Game Days (Lansing) and K-Zoo games (Kalamazoo), both of which I hear good things about, although I haven't taken the drive from Ypsilanti to see for myself.

3. Conventions are an excellent place to pick up low-level adventures. The next one I know of in Michigan is U-Con in Ann Arbor on November 4-6. The number of LG players in Ann Arbor is constantly growing, so APL 2 games shouldn't be terribly hard to find.
