At the level they gain large weapons: L6+, greater magic weapon lasts about all day. :D My favorite are the large crossbows: 2d6 damage or 2d8 for the heavy type. Tack on an Enlarge Person spell and *poof*, your wizard is doing 3d6 or 3d8 per hit! Large monk weapons are cute too as they allow monks to use power attack, where before it would only work with their staff and unarmed strikes. It's not a broken thing as there's still -2 to hit, but it adds flavor ...not to mention, large weapons are harder to sunder: an important thing in a campaign where both funds and access are controlled with a +5 cold iron fist. ;) Centuars or any other characters can't give other characters weapons expect temporarily. Enlarge Person gives a total of -2 to your ranged attack rolls. Attacking with an off-sized weapon is another -2. So -- let me get this straight -- you're thinking that a WIZARD attacking at -4 is something important? |
