This isn't really a character build thread, so bear with me.

I started off with an ok character when I played LG. Arcane Archers aren't a power class, but they have their appeal. See...here's the thing. I know am looking at a character stable of Archer 9, LtFtr 5, Wiz2, Clr 2. This is two years into the campaign, and three deaths later.

So, here's the question of the day. How do I maintain some character APL distribution and yet reorder my primary? Can I? Can I move a Divine Meta-Cheese cleric or a Fate-Divine-whaterver Wizard to my front rank w/o killing my APL distribution. Or, am I cursed with my starting PC forever?

Unfortunately, there is no way to rebuild a PC or start a new PC that isn't level 1, unless the Circle orders a universal rebuild and Britt has been pretty clear that that won't be happening soon. I'm afraid you're stuck with your primary unless you choose to start another character and play it up from level one.

actually the gaps between your characters is fine, you are able to take a seat at every APL up to 10.

one of the quaint facts/mechanics about LG is that there are normally no "level bumps" or "drag some characters up to level x".

especially at low levels it is nice to keep an assortment of different types of characters :)

one option for getting the level 5 character close to your uppermost archer is to play "red hand of doom" with him. should bring him close to level 9 but will cost nearly all TUs.

just by playing your lower level characters more, they will catch up to your primary, but you would loose a lot on character flexibility to contribute at every APL.

Play only cores with the level 9 and all regionals with your preferred other character.

Eventually the lower PC will overtake as it is getting twice the games in.

I'd think that a 2,5, and 9 are a pretty good distribution. So I'd say pick the cleric or the wizard as your primary. Use that guy in every game you can, and switch to the backups for games you can't. When your primary runs out of TUs, try and keep your backups at a good spread. So your backups are there for APL distibution, but your primary is leveling as fast as possible. It'll take time, but I think you can do it while maintaining your ability to sit in on any APL.

No rebuilds, but you can reorder your PCs by how much you play them.

At one point in the campaign, my primary was 15th, my secondary was 5th, and my tertiary was 2nd. I couldn't play APL 8, 10 or 12 for full XP.

Since then, my primary is 18th (retired), my secondary is 7th and my tertiary has bypassed him at 12th level. I also have multiple 2nds, 3rds and 4ths.

I can cover every APL, but it takes work and planning. Sometimes I can't play the PC I would like because I need to work on the gaps. For example, I need to get my 7th up to at least 8th quickly because my 12th is closing in on 13th.

i have a different issue. i WANT my current favourite main to pull away into higher lvls, but everyone in my area are too low to play any games with him.

im sitting on a spread, i can play 1 to 12 with a score of toons, though i have 6 lvl 2's and 4 lvl 3's, due to some insane obsession with intro mods in my area.
