It largely depends on what APLs you play at.

Assuming that you don't play any other mods, gain full experience, and play at the highest APL you can without losing xp/gp...

1. COR5-06 - APL2 - +450 - 450.
2. COR5-09 - APL2 - +450 - 900.
3. CORS5-02 - APL2 - +900 - 1800 - Level 2.
3. COR5-11 - APL4 - +675 - 2475.
4. COR5-17 - APL4 - +675 - 3150 - Level 3.
5. COR5-20 - APL4 - +675 - 3825.
6. COR6-02 - APL4 - +1350 - 5175.
7. COR6-09 - APL4 - +675 - 5850.
8. CORS6-02 - APL4 - +1350 - 7200 - Level 4.
9. COR6-09 - APL6 - +900 - 8100.
10. COR6-13 - APL6 - +900 - 9000.
11. COR6-16 - APL6 - +1800 - 10800 - Level 5.

So, if you start with a new character in COR5-06, play every part of the series in order at the maximum "full xp" APL with no deaths or loss of xp, you will end up with 10,800 experience points and a 5th level character.

My asherati ranger just died; my first ever LG death too... Luckily he'd just made 4th level the previous mod, so the XP "penalty" was not as painful as it could have been, and doubly lucky, as there was plenty of overcap gold, so I got the "free" raise dead (in fact, there was actually enough overcap for a true rez -- to bad the damn spell is essentially restricted!)

I'm 5th but I've been playing other mods too including Fane of the Drow

Considering the bright sands are a stones throw from the Celadon forest and just up the road from greyhawk there is no reason not to play tBright Sands characters in other cores mods.

If you try and build a colorful Brightsands character it will be slightly nobbled as most of the feats (like sandskimmer for example) are useless outside the bright sands and not that useful even in Bright Sands mods. However my boomerang throwing, parasol carrying badlands dwarf with sunglasses may be down a feat or two compared to a normal dwarf (he has picked up fire resistance 5 as a compensation) in combat but the roleplay opportunities more than make up for it.

i luv said dwarf. plith helmet, parasol, cammel, non proficient boomerangs everywhere...

adimtedly, i get a little worried when he throws his great falchion into combat... but hes great fun to play with... even if he is a little depressed.

He is not depressed, its just that now he is a cleric of Gendwar Argrim he has aquired some of Gendwar's somewhat gloomy approach to things :)

and i quote:

mike: (my pirate): "yeargh, im up for it, treasure n'all"
dwarf: "i dont care. we're all doomed anyway. DOOMed"

he's a flavourfull little fello. *hug*

Hi

I like the Bright Sands mods for the different flavour of the scenarios. it's not the monsters you worry about, it's the HEAT!
(Or the Water if you play Asherati in other mods/locations)!

Access to the Gt Spear (D12 dam) is nice, too, as well as the access to camels as Druid Companions.

Running the newest mod - Tears for Bright Sands this weekend at our local convention. Shame I'm 'burning' the mod as GM - definitely an interesting one.
(It's the penultimate one in the campaign).

Cheers

My Bright Sands character is a Unath Dwarf (Evoker though) as well, but he's 8th level (For the second time actually) as he's spent a lot of time in the neighboring Nyrond. And I haven't played all the Bright Sands mods yet. I am very tempted to 'move' him to Nyrond next year as the story Arc winds down.

you know, you suddenly will loose all generic access to sandstorm spells you not already know, as there are some nice spells you otherwise have to find access to first, i am intended to keep my dwaven wizard an inhabitant of the bright desert permanently, or at least till the evil ursurpator is doomed :)

How does this work for clerics though? As soon as they change regions, do they loose the lot? Or do they keep what they used to have? or do they continue to get more? This particular access question is really poorly answered...
