| dwolf508-19-07, 11:46 PM | To WOTC: OK. If I take all the emotion out of the decision to end LG, I really am ambivalent as there are great stories to tell in most settings. Although the amount of established canon is forbidding. However, what I get worked up about is that authors have worked hard on story arcs and with only 6 mods per region next year many authors will not have a chance to finish their plots. That is really annoying. I know personally that I have spent months of work writing the plot, creating the monster stats, creating maps and supplemental information, putting all that information into the proper format, and going through the editing process. Then to have WOTC say, well - you may not be able to finish what you started - too bad so sad - is really disrespectful to the people who put a lot of work into creating content for players to play. As I am not a triad member, I cannot speak for them, but I feel for their regional plots. So - that is the rant - here is what I think Should have happened. End Greyhawk. Fine. But give us at least a full year of mods (and no - the rest of this year does not count - many mods were written prior to this bombshell expecting the campaign to continue) to do that. |

| Stafir Ortnev08-20-07, 12:14 AM | To my understanding, with Triads at least, they have been working towards a wrapup for this year anyway. As they were told to write a 3 year storyark..and 2008 is year 3 of that storyark. |
| Grimslade200108-20-07, 12:19 AM | But the Triads were thinking they had 8 rounds to work with not 6. In 12 months not 7. The timetable will be the hardest to over come. It will be tight but i have faith in my regions authors and Triad. |
| dwolf508-20-07, 12:19 AM | As I said, I can't speak for the triads. But I just believe this was handled poorly. You shouldn't end something so involved as LG in such a brutal way. All that does is create angst. |

It will be tight but i have faith in my regions authors and Triad. That's going to be a challenge. My home region has two big events in September and December, which is when five of the nine regional modules are released. I don't even know that we'll have the cons to get six modules out by May. | AOSOL08-20-07, 12:34 PM | I'll be more than willing to write massive mods to end the Greyhawk. All I ask is that APL 16 and maybe APL 18 be permitted back in. Lets talk about going out with a REAL bang. Something along lines of the triplet Cataclysm. Things along the lines of Githyanki armadas come to Oreth, Gleemax comes to power, Rary redirects and attempts to consume Greyhawk, The Blood war is taking place below Greyhawk and the city is about to collapse into it. I'm talking about getting out your epic handbook and ripping out pages 117-119, the adventure ideas and see how many of those you can cram into a story line! When Origins rolls around, the End of Greyhawk will be a Day long event and attendance will be incredible because the intensity of what next years storyline will be. Missing Origins Greyhawk finale will be missing the best D&D game of all time. Lets challege ourselves as a campign to be the best ever. to make the last year of Greyhawk be the best year of gaming ever. To have soo much 3.5 cramed down our throats, that we'll be welcoming 4th edition.:ayyyy!: |
| KarmaInferno08-20-07, 12:59 PM | Personally, I don't get why they'd limit the mods at all. It's ending anyhow. Why not allow the Triads to pump out as many mods as they are capable of by the cut-off date? Even if they're rushed and have some problems, who cares? I'd hazard a guess that players would welcome more play opportunities, even if it's a bit rough. -karma |

Nyrond especially, but also the Pale somewhat, have used half reward/no access modules to tell more stories than the regional limits. Unfortunately these can only be played at conventions. But it might help. |
