| Britt02-13-07, 12:48 AM | It's up on the WotC site now, thanks to the valiant efforts of the web guru there. |
| frupton02-13-07, 01:15 AM | Wow, it's reduced to 34 pages! How did it keep all that equipment on it when it resized? |
| Britt02-13-07, 01:19 AM | Gnomes ;) |
| Genghis Cohen02-13-07, 01:59 AM | Gnomes ;)Does that mean that the LGCS is evil? Seriously though, you did a great job. Thanks for all of the hard work. |
| Eric Anondson02-13-07, 02:00 AM | More likely they were those gnome followers of Keraptis... those are some evil genius types I tell you. What with the removal of DSP, DMM, and polymorph, the wailing of heroes was heard across the Flanaess. :evillaugh |
| jimmy_dowdall02-13-07, 03:57 AM | most gnomes i've come across have been followers of vecna so my dwarven evoker is thinking about burning them all just to be on the safe side:P |
| Genghis Cohen02-13-07, 08:50 AM | most gnomes i've come across have been followers of vecna so my dwarven evoker is thinking about burning them all just to be on the safe side:PIncluding the Gnome babies? <<ducks and covers |
| LGMoses02-13-07, 11:15 AM | Can you play as an aristocrat or not? I thought I saw some people on here talking about it somewhere.... The only thing I could find in the LGCS 597 is that it says under landless noble that if you start as an aristocrat you get 200 extra gp for taking it. Aristocrat and all other npc classes aren't on the open/closed lists. I don't really want to play an npc class and I don't think they're appropriate to play, I just want to be clear on it. btw thanks for getting this out so early. I have just enough time to print it before my game today. |

I believe there is something to the effect that all feats, base and prestige classes from the PHB, DMG, and MM are treated as Open unless listed otherwise under Appendix 4. The Circle didn't notice they added them till it was brought up in the draft discussion and they decided to still allow them as an option in the final version. |
| bitznarf02-13-07, 11:24 AM | Any idea when they will be getting around to actually putting up the DC that goes along with the new LGCS? |
| Britt02-13-07, 11:27 AM | The NPC classes are legal, though I doubt they will be used for any powergaming builds. They might be used some for some roleplaying, but I'm not going to complain about that :) I was hoping the DC would go up last night, but Tuesday night is the normal LG update night, so hopefully tonight :/ |
| LGMoses02-13-07, 11:37 AM | don't npc classes have like 1/2 CR or something like that? I don't see why they should be legal really. They're not going to be lending that much help to defeating the encounters. Does roleplaying have to mean something is weaker? I don't think we'll see enuff of them hto for it to matter. Would be funny as hell though if someone could get a straight aristocrat or commoner to retire. If you can get a commoner to 16th level then I will laugh and laugh and laugh. |
| Crazy Boro02-13-07, 11:41 AM | I know I'm still tempted to make an aristocrat with his own butler/bodyguard cohort.;) |
| Britt02-13-07, 11:43 AM | It doesn't have to be weak to be roleplaying, but something doesn't have to be powerful to be an acceptable build, either. |
| Alpha_Nerd02-13-07, 11:53 AM | Hey Britt, you should release a ridiculous spell list for Adepts just to see if you can get anyone to play one :) |
| Rerednaw02-13-07, 05:07 PM | Just wanted to say thanks for all the hard work. I don't agree with all the changes (who does?). I am willing to acknowledge the many attempts to create some consistency and I am quite happy that much of the goo and dribble was eliminated. |
| Herrbard02-13-07, 07:54 PM | Any idea when they will be getting around to actually putting up the DC that goes along with the new LGCS? It's up now. |
| Vamroc02-13-07, 11:25 PM | "You can craft weapon and armor enchantments if you have had access to purchase any item that has those enchantments from the Items Found section of any AR." Could this be one of the most game breaking changes ever. I would like to know which has greater power the LGCS or the mod. I have a number of "can't be crafted" items does the new rules in the LGCS override the crafting restrictions. |
| Britt02-13-07, 11:30 PM | That is a subpoint for crafting, which says you must meet the prerequisites. If the item says 'cannot be crafted' where the prerequisites are, I think that's pretty clear. Besides, is an item that cannot be crafted a weapon or armor enchantment? |
| TheBlackFlail02-14-07, 02:22 AM | I just want to know: Who is going to be the first player to play a Commoner straight through to retirement? |
| Eric Anondson02-14-07, 02:25 AM | No one. LGCS 597, v7.01, removed the NPC classes from Open and put them firmly in Closed. |
