Do I have to retrain it now since i have no campaign Documentation to take it ? I believe that if you have a feat/item that has become NONC, no retraining is necessary, as you have documentation via the old LGCS. If it had become Closed, you would indeed have to re-train (for free). As for why... I don't know really. I've heard that they (the circle) thought the feat was too good for its cost. |
| zigspatty03-10-07, 01:05 PM | Can someone plz tell me why Insightful Reflexes has been removed from the Core/Open List of Feats ? I would guess that the Circle considered it unbalanced...it gives far more benefit than Lightning Reflexes for most characters that would consider taking it. Of course, that is only speculation.. the Circle doesn't always explain their reasoning. (I hadn't even noticed that it was gone....now my wizard won't be able to take it next level as I'd planned. Fortunately there are some nice new choices.) Do I have to retrain it now since i have no campaign Documentation to take it ? Check with your triad. You had documentation in the LGCS when you took the feat... but that document is no longer valid. I think that you'll have to retrain it, but your triad will be able to tell you for certain. Patty |
| Crazy Boro03-10-07, 01:11 PM | You can keep it as long as you had it before the latest LGCS. If you took something that is no longer Open but is also not Closed (like Insightful Reflexes), you can still keep it. Same for magic items that were crafted under old rules. These rules are not retroactive unless they say so or it was something you shouldn't have been able to do in the first place, like buying a strand of prayer beads for 25,800. http://boards1.wizards.com/showpost.php?p=11421719&postcount=144 |
| Hariman03-20-07, 12:42 AM | Insightful Reflexes is a feat that any wizard with a mediocre dexterity would take. (IE: Any wizard that hasn't cranked it's dex to the max to use Ranged Touch Attacks, Like my Dex18 Int14 Halfling Rogue Wizard Ranged Touch Attacker.) But, if it's not "closed", then it's a feat that's too good to allow anybody to take, unless they EARN it. Unlike some things, which are so good that they MUST be taken. Like the Abjurant Champion. Which ANY wizard or sorcerer would be a fool to NOT take. (And the same goes for any fighter.) Hariman |

(And the same goes for any fighter.)I'm not so sure about that one... Its major flaw is, it touts that members of the class make frequent use of spells like mage armor or shield, but the class actually grants nothing special to a casting of mage armor (since it's not an abjuration spell)... |

| Timlagor03-20-07, 07:31 AM | Abjurant Champion is sickeningly powerful. You don't need Mage Armour bonuses to make it so though they certainly did mess up there. While Insightful Reflexes is useful to virtually any Wizard, that doesn't mean that they will take it: Feat Slots are a valuable resource and many would rather take something else. |
| Alpha_Nerd03-20-07, 10:14 AM | I think they made it NONC because of me. Sorry about that guys. (I have an 8 Dex and a +10 Reflex save on my level 6 wizard, and next level I get prescient sense :)) |
