The most active place I'm aware of for online LG play is the OnlineGameDay group at groups.yahoo.com. Be forewarned that it's not just one person setting up games there, so it can come across as a little chaotic and confusing at first. When you sign up, *read the archives* of messages back a week or two...it'll help you get the feel for what goes on, and how games get set up. (That, and, at least once a week, a newbie posts a "How Do I Do This" message; if you read the archives, you won't have to do that. :D ) I'd also suggest reading the Online Gaming Primer that Maryrita Steinhour put together: http://www.kellscaer.net/Online_gaming/GM_Players_Online_Gaming_Guide.html There are two chat programs that folks use for this: AOL Instant Messenger, and OpenRPG. Both are free downloads; AIM is easier to install and use, but less robust (although it does have a built-in die roller). OpenRPG has a lot more options, but also has a steeper learning curve. Hope this helps. Mike Mistele |
