| heirodule11-11-04, 11:29 AM | Could someone explain an actual valid reasoning behind prohibiting reprinted reward cards with identical effects from Mark of Heroes? This goes against common sense, and DCI policy for reprinted game components with identical effects. As arbiter of the rules at tables I run in home LG play, I have no intention of denying people the ability to use what the RPGA gives them to play RPGA games. If someone at my table wants to charge me with a rules violation, go ahead. |
| SteveMND11-11-04, 11:39 AM | Effectively, what the Circle said was: We have decided at this point not to allow any Player Rewards cards from Set One of the Mark of Heroes, even if the texts are functionally identical to existing cards that have already been approved for use. If you wish to use the effects of those cards, you must use an earlier printing of them. (My wording, not theirs) Player Reward cards were designed explicitly to promote the "D&D Campaigns" series of RPGA games -- no more, no less. Neither Living Greyhawk nor any other RPGA campaign are required to use them; they are not an 'entitlement' that 'must' to be given to us. Admittedly, the current decision doesn't seem, IMHO, to be in the best interests of the game, given previous handling of similar situations. However, things change -- it may be that the Circle just decided to table the issue for the time being and issue a blanket statement forbidding the set, then formally review and adjust things when the next LGCS comes out (presumably sometime around/after the new year). Personally, I'd love to see a handful of LG-specific cards put out by the RPGA, but that's not going to happen in the foreseeable future (if ever at all), since that's presumably not a worthwhile expenditure of their marketing dollars. |
| CruelDM11-11-04, 04:24 PM | Im a bit confused, can someone use non LG reward cards at an LG table? The above posts seem to suggest that, and the fact that its posted in the LG forum. sorry for not knowing, im pretty new to LG. |

There are no LG Reward Cards per se, but there is a list of the Legacy of the Green Regent Player Reward Cards that are allowable in LG play in the Living Greyhawk Campaign Sourcebook (LGCS) on page 49. If there are any changes since the last printing, they would be at the LG website. |
| Arvagor11-23-04, 07:13 PM | Where was this announcement made? I'm recently back into gaming after ~15 yr hiatus, and new to RPGA and LG. I regular check my region's website (Veluna) and the official (?) site at http://www.living-greyhawk.com/, but haven't seen this news before... |
| Mixmaster1511-24-04, 04:19 AM | What I don't get is the fuss about this. There are 10 cards in the set. - 3 are creation cards (not usable) - 1 is an expansion card (also not usable) - 2 are general cards that need to use Action Points. THERE ARE NO ACTION POINTS IN LG - (UNUSABLE). - 2 are general cards that are helpful if you have Action Points or a feat. [Delect Arrows or Mobility] (somewhat usuable, but rarely taken by other than monks and rogues) All that's left is (with no strings attached): Twist the Blade Blessed Relief Blessed Relief is in Set 4 & 5. Should be easy to find, people are trading these cards. You want one that bad, you'll find a way. |

The Circle ruled in the past that reprints of legal cards for Living Greyhawk were allowed to be used. Now the Circle has disregarded the old precedent and ruled that identical cards in the latest set may not be used. Ed |

Ed /whine on Which is a real drag for those of us who are new to the RPGA (or back again, in my case). We don't have access to the old sets and the ones that we DO have access to (MoH) are being disallowed. /whine off |
