To assist them, the Lords of Light have chosen the Keepers, who care and watch over the children. The organization is lead by the Three, a triad of mysterious women who appears in the dreams of crusaders and keepers alike. These three women, including the young Sister Hope, the motherly Sister Love, and the amusing old Sister Faith, instruct the children no matter where they may be in their dreams. The children continuously fight those afflicted with the Scourge, a terrible and magical disease that causes people and creatures alike to become evil. According to the Sisters, the source of the Scourge must be found and eliminated before the Scourge takes over all of Greyhawk. The actual location of the sisters is unknown to anyone. Special Requirements: In order to be a member of the Children's Crusade, the PLAYER must be a child between the ages of 7 and 14. Children may be Crusaders and eventually Champions in the Children's Crusade. Parents. guardians, or older siblings may become Keepers and Flame Keepers in the organization. Special Benefits: When a player is no longer a member of the Children's Crusade due to their age, they are graduated from the crusade and gain access to the following prestige classes: XXX, XXX, XXX, and XXX (suggestions?) Crusader Requirements: Good alignment 4 TU a year to perform duties for the crusade 100 gp a year in dues Restricted to using base classes from the PHB only Must have completed one Children's Crusade mini-mission. Must be "young" in age. Benefits: Chosen of the Light: If you ever fall below 0 hit points, you automatically stabilize. Hand of Light: You gain the good subtype, all of your attacks count as if they had the good descriptor. Whenever in a region that has the Children's Crusade meta org, you receive standard upkeep for free. Immunity to disease Champion Requirements: Good alignment 6 TU a year to perform duties for the crusade 200 gp a year in dues Restricted to using base classes from the PHB only. Must have completed four Children's Crusade mini-missions. Benefits: As per Crusader and: Weapon of Light: Three times per day, as a free action, the Champion may choose any weapon they wield to glow with a divine light, casting as much light as a sunrod. While the weapon does this, it does 1d6 holy damage to any undead or Scourge afflicted creature. This effect lasts for one hour or until the user puts the weapon away. Child of Light: Anytime the Crusader falls below 5 hit points, he or she gains fast healing/1 until they are at 5 hit points again. Keeper Requirements: Good alignment 4 TU a year to perform duties for the crusade 100 gp a year in dues Must have completed one Children's Crusade mini-mission. Benefits: Keepers gain: Healing Touch: 3 times per day, a keeper may touch a subject who is either a Crusader or a Champion of the Children's Crusade. This touch will allow any of the following. The touch negates the conditions of fatigue, confusion, nausea, sickening, exhaustion, shaken, cowering, or frightened for as long as the keeper is touching the subject. The subject will heal a point every round they are touched, up to half the subject's original hit points. The subject may reroll their last failed roll against the effects of a poison or a disease. This save does not retroactively reduce any ill affects of the poison or disease until that point. Keeper: Greater Healing Touch: 3 times per day, a keeper may touch a subject who is either a Crusader or a Champion of the Children's Crusade. This touch will allow any of the following. The touch negates the conditions of fatigue, confusion, nausea, sickening, exhaustion, shaken, cowering, or frightened for as long as the keeper is touching the subject and 5 rounds thereafter. The subject will heal two points every round they are touched, up to half the subject's original hit points. The subject may reroll their last failed roll against the effects of a poison or a disease, at a +2 bonus. This save does not retroactively reduce any ill affects of the poison or disease until that point. This particular meta-org will have numerous mini-missions that are designed to be ~2 hours in length and feature different rules so that children may learn how to play D&D's complex rule system better. These adventures will also feature clearer objectives and are more "kid friendly" in general. It provides a way for children and their parents/guardians/siblings to play in an environment better suited to their needs (shorter adventures, interconnected characters, etc.) |
| Japangirl12-13-06, 09:44 PM | The meta-org benefits are way out of line with other benefits. I like the idea, but the power is far too great. Benefits from meta-orgs are things like skill bonuses in certain areas, mundane item access, feat and PrC access, and influence points with other groups and things like that, not good-aligned attacks and immunity to disease. |
| Shieldhart9112-13-06, 10:14 PM | Agreed. Most meta-orgs confer skill check bonuses or equipment from the Arms & Equipment Guide. Nothing extraordinary: what you're listing is something more appropriate for a class. |
