Hello fellow gamers,

My name is Mak, and I am a student from a university in Malaysia (a country located within South East Asia). Refering to the Living Greyhawk Meta-Regions page, I note that there are no countries within Asia itself that has been assigned a meta-region, and thus, it looks like I will have to request for an assignment.

While having the sourcebook for Living Greyhawk and also having experience running living campaigns as a herald-level game master, I am somewhat unfamiliar with the way things run, and hope to be acquainted with those I will have to work with when starting a Living Greyhawk campaign within Malaysia. Any help, advice and comments are appreciated.

Thank you all for your kind attention and consideration.

Yours sincerely,

Mak

Unfortunately, you are currently in a CORE scenario only region. This means that for Living Greyhawk you can only run the CORE scenarios and not any Regionals or Metaregional scenarios.

Your nearest real-world region (in fact the only one in the Asia-Pacific region) is Perrenland (Australia/New Zealand), so if you visit, you can play Perrenland Regionals or Iuz Metaregional scenarios.

Greyhawk is the only campaign that uses the regional system in this way, so if you play/run any of the others (Force, Arcanis, Dragonstar, Spycraft) everything in the database is available.

On an advertising note, Spring Revel Downunder is running 30 Sep - 03 Oct in Melbourne, Australia. This is the Asia Pacific equivalent of GenCon for our region.

I give you same suggestion as the Russian player in another thread. Organise events with core scenarios and if play numbers are high enough, Malaysia might be included in an existing region.

Personally I think there should be region for Far East players other than Perrenland but then again, nobody asks me:D

Remember that Core scenarios can also be played Online with OpenRPG program if you don't find any local games.

The information helps a lot.

I guess I might as well get started running CORE games. After running a few, I will certainly make another request for consideration (and if I am able to get enough players as well).

Unfortunately I don't think few games among friends will make that much of an impact and if I remember correctly, circle always reviews these things at the end of the year so I suggest you try to 'corrupt' more people into gaming* and see what happens.

Example: According to my information players from Portugal are currently busy so they could be included in Lordship of the Isles (Spain) region at the end of the year.

The greatest success was made by Switzerland who were in ankward position between three regions (Ekbir, Adri & Sea Barons) and after briefly being part of Adri, received their own region of Dullstrand when previous owners did not know what to do with it.

*It seems you are part of a club which might be excellent way boost play numbers.
