| Necrochaos04-11-06, 06:16 PM | Not to encourage spoilers, but are there any year 5 or 6 year Cores that grant access to mithral? My archer needs some a mithral breastplate or other medium armor. Just checking to see what mod I can play to get this. |
| Mortepierre04-11-06, 06:57 PM | Most mithral armors I've seen so far were chain shirt or chainmail. Of course, it depends a lot on what APL your character will be playing, so including that info would be helpful. There is, however, an alternative.. dragoncraft armor. And I've seen such a breastplate, though not in the most recent mod. *cough* |

| Kheldren04-12-06, 04:01 AM | I have DM'd a core year 5 module that gave access to any mithral armour or any adamantine item depending on the APL played at. |
| awroe04-12-06, 01:51 PM | I've played a core module this year that gave access to "a mithril shield or suit of armour". |
| solbergb04-12-06, 02:35 PM | When looking for special materials like mithril, look in blurbs for stuff that occurs in mountains, mines, around dwarves or around elves. At least that's my experience. Elves are more likely to just give access to specific armor, rather than "any item". Mines are more likely to give "any item" type access. It isn't a sure thing though, and not having a blurb like that doesn't mean it can't happen. My archer got adamantine access by finding some weird metal in a lab and eventually trading it to a merchant... |
