We recently completed this adventure (before christmas) and my character (4th level) qualified fr the monodrome cohort.

I need help to adjust the stats for the modron to the relevent level (i calculate it to be 3HD based on my level). Most of my group have never played with companions and cohorts and the rules in the DMG/MM are a bit confusing.

If you have any help it would be great.

First off, keep in mind that it is technically a cohort, which means you have to have the Leadership feat in order to get it.

Secondly, keep in mind that as such, it's generally not worth it to get it, except perhaps for pure flavor, because by the time you are 6th level or higher, he will die in most any combat -- he's just that fragile.

Lastly, keep in mind that there is a typo on the AR, which listrs him dying at 0 hit points (although the descriptions of modrons in the module do not have this -- in fact, when you first come across the guy in the mod, he is at 0 hp and staggered!). Unfortunately, despite many requests, no eratta has been given for the little guy, and according to the Circle, the AR always takes precedence -- which means, unfortunately, the little guy will die at 0 hp should he get hit.

All in all, while he would make for a terribly cool 'flavor' followers or henchman (which is what the author originally planned), he makes an abysmally poor cohort (which, apparently, is what the circle/editor decided to make him).
