| Sieylianna08-12-07, 10:20 PM | And it says absolutely nothing about acceptance of kobolds. Ed |
| bitznarf08-12-07, 11:43 PM | I hope Greyhawk Ruins gets its own DC, because there are many unanswered questions in the sourcebook, never mind the things that are flat wrong. |
| Britt08-13-07, 12:09 AM | There is a Greyhawk Ruins article that was submitted at the same time and should be up soon. The rules for treatment of kobolds within regions will be posted by individual triads. |
| waytoomuchcoffee08-13-07, 12:26 AM | I was kind of hoping it would allow all alignments to worship Io, per the Races of the Dragon Description, rather than just one alignment away from true N. |
| Arvagor08-13-07, 08:32 AM | I was kind of hoping it would allow all alignments to worship Io, per the Races of the Dragon Description, rather than just one alignment away from true N.You can certainly worship him if your alignment is LG or CG -- you just can't be a class that draws it's divine power from that worship... ;) |
| Prof. Pacali08-13-07, 09:25 AM | I'm still confused about whether my druid's riding dog still has a trip attack. Previously I spent two tricks to give her a trip, but if she has the Combat Riding package is she "trained for war" and I don't need to do so? |
| Hariman08-13-07, 10:05 AM | I'm still confused about whether my druid's riding dog still has a trip attack. Previously I spent two tricks to give her a trip, but if she has the Combat Riding package is she "trained for war" and I don't need to do so? The dispel confusion states that you can change up to two tricks for a mount. So, provided the Trip ability is open, you can choose to have your mount lose two tricks from the list in the Dispel Confusion and gain the Trip ability. That is, unless you used handle animal to train the riding dog to trip, then the two tricks come from the training via handle animal and are in addition to the six tricks already known. I suspect that many players will drop at least one trick from the list and give their trained for war pets the "Attack" trick twice. Y'know, for those uglies the pet won't attack otherwise. |
| LachlarlanIII08-13-07, 10:16 AM | Are the Mist and Greyhawk Dragon Disciple variants available to all characters or only those that begin play as kobolds or with the Domain of Greyhawk as their race/region respectively? |

So, provided the Trip ability is open, you can choose to have your mount lose two tricks from the list in the Dispel Confusion and gain the Trip ability. You don't need to spend tricks to get your dog able to trip. That was a ruling that was removed from the 597 LGCS. Instead it reverts to the Core rules which state that a riding dog that is 'trained for war' can trip like a wolf does. |
| Hariman08-13-07, 10:54 AM | Are the Mist and Greyhawk Dragon Disciple variants available to all characters or only those that begin play as kobolds or with the Domain of Greyhawk as their race/region respectively? The dispel confusion says that Mist and Greyhawk Dragons are now OPEN rules options for Dragon Disciple. It doesn't say anything about being a Kobold. So, for purposes of Dragon Disciple, you need only meet the prerequisites. However, I'm pretty sure that Draconic Heritage (Mist or Greyhawk Dragon) is only for Kobolds. |
| Arvagor08-13-07, 10:57 AM | The dispel confusion says that Mist and Greyhawk Dragons are now OPEN rules options for Dragon Disciple. It doesn't say anything about being a Kobold. Actually it does... Q: Sojourner from the Mist Kingdom indicates that the kobold's draconic heritage must be either a metallic or mist dragon. Does this also limit my options regarding feats or prestige classes related to dragons? A: Yes. Any rules option selected by a Mist Kingdom kobold that is related to dragons must be based upon a metallic, mist, or Greyhawk dragon. Seems pretty clear that kobolds have those options available to them as well... |

Of course we still don't know what "trained for war" is or how to know if a dog has it. *sigh* |
| bitznarf08-13-07, 11:24 AM | Of course we still don't know what "trained for war" is or how to know if a dog has it. *sigh* Yeah, I know. But at least we don't need to spend tricks on it anymore. Up where I live riding dogs come out of the box trained for war. Or at least, I've yet to run into a judge that ruled some other way. |

"Trip" isn't a trick, so using the free tricks to gain it isn't really an option. Animals cannot have more than two tricks per point of INT; warhorses and riding dogs have 2 INT, so they can't have more than 6 tricks. |

Of course, you can always Push your animal to do things that it is capable of, but not actually trained to do. Getting a DC 20 with your animal companion is fairly easy, especially above level 5. |

But 'trip' is still not a trick. |
| Hariman08-13-07, 12:41 PM | Those are Open to all PCs as well. All right! Looks like my current sorcerer is going to retrain into Greyhawk Dragon Heritage. And my kobold won't get a dragon heritage at all. Multiple Practical Metamagics is much more fun! |
| Reylance08-13-07, 01:03 PM | Britt, Please post here if kobolds will be allowed into Greyhawk. We may not see the article on the Wizards web site in time. |
| Iswald08-14-07, 10:40 AM | There is a link for a Greyhawk Ruins Dispel Confusion right above the link for the current Dispel Confusion. It doesn't bring up anything though. |

| Timlagor08-14-07, 09:48 PM | But isn't Pushing an animal DC 25? Yes and it's a full round action to boot (though quicker on an animal companion) |
