Here's one to get the board fired up.

What is your alltime favourite mod and who is your favourite author?

Excellent question. I haven't been able to narrow it down to any one mod but here are a few of my favorites:

In no particular order...

COR3-11 Forlorn Memories
GRM3-09 In the Blink of an Unseeing Eye
GRM5-01 The Commandant's Parlor
YEO3-02 In Darkness, Despair
GRM2-04 The Free Band
COR5-04 Desecrators of the Lords' Tomb
COR2-07 Ashes of Innocence
GRM3-03 Shades of the Past
YEO3-01 Guard Dogs
SHE3-03 Shades of Gray
SHE5-01 Sounds of Silence
SHE4-07 A Matter of Trust
SHE4-03 Breaking Point

Please note that this list does not include Battle Interactives or Core Specials. Although these are my personal favorites for a variety of reasons, there are many, many more truly excellent modules out there.

(...and yes, I'm a Gran March player)

COR3-04 By Cunning and Forced Cause

One of my favorites has been:

COR5-14 All Roads Lead to Rauxes

It has one of the most fun non-combat "events" that I have ever encountered in a LG game. Not only that but the story is really detailed and interesting as well. If you get the chance to play it I strongly recommend it. It is a rather hard adventure though!

Anything by Paul Looby is great. My personal favorite is "The Traitor's Road."

I've played over 100 mods.
My two most favorite were: * Toecutter and * It never Rains in Nyrond. :)
Only two mods made me regret playing them: SHE4-07 A Matter of Trust
SHE4-03 Breaking Point ...In one mod, our 5 level 8 PCs were hit by an evert's black tentical that also produced the effect of an empowered Cloud kill that doesn't move (a L4+L7+ in one spell!); and even I couldn't escape with a +30 grapple! while the other mod started with the opportunity to cast buff spells before being teleported into an on going war, since I was a pure caster (mainly buffs) I burt 90% of my spells then the DM says: "You fight for x-hrs, get no XP/gp, your buffs are gone, you're damaged, you are not allowed to regain spells even when the sun came up." I used the other 10% of my spells to heal the party and was basicly no real help after that and HATED the whole mod as I had nothing to do.

You should be careful not to give out spoilers (although those mods will only be legal to play for another month or so).

My favorite mods to run have been the Gran March intro mod that involves players escorting an ex-ravager to the Halls of Purity (forget the name) and the two SERPENT mods, Shedding Scales and Clipping Wings. They all ooze with flavor and are ripe with role playing possibilities, which allows me a lot of fun while running.

My least favorite is A matter of trust, for the reasons the person above posted. If it is run AS IS at the low end of the APL scale, it _will_ result in a TPK. As a judge, I have scaled down the death encounter at lower APLs to ensure everyone is challenged and can still have a good time (mostly by reducing the level/effects of that one ability)
