| Keii02-29-04, 07:20 PM | I am new to the RPGA and would like to jump into LG (or even LGR) and would like to know how to do so in an online game. Any advice/pointers? Eric |

LG can be run online, but only core modules (no regionals or meta-regionals). LGR cannot be run online at all. AFAIK, all the other Living campaigns have no particular restrictions on online play. You'll want to join Yahoo Groups (http://groups.yahoo.com) to learn more about this; once you do so, take a look at the following groups: - OnlineGameDay - conline-announcement - CrossroadsOnline All of these groups run online conventions or game days on a semi-regular basis, frequently including LG. In theory, you could play with any software that allows for a chat room and a die-roller; however, AOL Instant Messenger is frequently the default program -- although not optimized for RPGs, it's free, fairly easy to use, and available for many platforms. The groups mentioned above usually use AIM. OpenRPG has its supporters, as well, and is certainly designed for online RPG play, but some people have found it complicated to install. Maryrita Steinhour's put together a very nice primer on playing online; you can take a look at it at: http://www.kellscaer.net/Online_gaming/GM_Players_Online_Gaming_Guide.html I hope this helps.
