| Platinum02-13-04, 11:20 PM | Hmmm, not much to these boards... Anyway, I know wizards has the policy that when material conflicts, always go with the latest publication. However, does that apply to living greyhawk? I mean, do I use the Exotic Weapon Master from the new Complete warrior book, or from the old Masters of the Wild book? Thanks. |
| StevieS02-14-04, 05:54 AM | The circle guys have stated that when all of the new 'complete' books are out they will adopt those and remove the old builder books from the campaign. So in answer, use the current version but keep an eye on the new one as they will switch eventually. |
| Platinum02-14-04, 11:16 AM | Thanks. If I take a level in another PrC, and then they adopt the new rules (for the one I like), would there be an issue to add the new PrC even though I'd have a level in some other PrC? |

I'm just thinking about buying all the old builder books with my salary. Is it pratical to spend money on all those? |

Is it pratical to spend money on all those? For use in LG? Almost certainly not. It should be noted that some builder book PrCs may not appear in the new 'complete' books so they may still be useful for home games and other campaigns that still use 3e if there are any. |

When the old books retire and the new ones come in there will have to be some sort of conversion so that people who have a PrC that has changed are either a) still eligible b)lose their PrC levels to a core class. (likely to be option a IMHO). Also some PrCs may not be reprinted in the complete books so some people will be left high and dry, PrCs should be used cautiously I think. Did that help? Steve ps I'm no-one official for the LG campaign just bored & browsing. |

You'd be best off to pre-order the newer builder books at your local game shop rather than buy the current 3e builder books, which are most definitely singing their swan song. Complete Warrior is a shining example of how much better the new builder books are from the old ones. |

I'm not touching 3e anymore, but there are just too many 3e players in my country. When they talk about the old builder books instead of the new ones, they are supposing these are some must-haves of DMs. As for me, those seem some kind of waste. btw, can anyone tell a full list of all the complete books? I know Complete Warriors, Unearthed Arcana, and what else? |
| kenobi6502-19-04, 01:53 AM | Originally posted by medith btw, can anyone tell a full list of all the complete books? I know Complete Warriors, Unearthed Arcana, and what else? Unearthed Arcana is *not* a "Complete" book -- it's a collection of variant rules, many of which were originally published by companies other than WotC under the OGL. As such, it's *highly* unlikely that it'll wind up being incorporated into LG. I've heard that the "Complete" book for wizards and sorcerers will be called "Complete Arcane" -- if so, that name just lends a bit more confusion to everything. I don't think that that book has been officially announced as yet, so I don't think there's a "firm" release date for it. Complete Divine is supposed to be out in May '04, according to ENWorld. That's the only other Complete book (other than Warrior, which is already out) that's been officially announced. Hope that helps. |
| StevieS02-19-04, 11:33 AM | The best guess seems to be that there will be one 'complete' book for each class type although there are rumours of 'complete' racial types. I'm not sure I will buy the Complete Gnome myself but there you go  Maybe the Complete Suel would be fun though, a bit like BoVD with extra xenophobia thrown in. :D |
| heirodule02-19-04, 11:41 AM | No complete racial book, but there will be a book called "races of stone" which will cover dwarves and gnomes (at a minimum) Some nonreprinted stuff from the builderbooks might show up there. |

That must be the rumour I was thinking of although I'd be shocked if it ended with just 'races of stone' without a 'races of pointy ears' or somesuch. |
| Sieylianna02-19-04, 05:11 PM | I was told at Gen Con Indy (by an unimpechable source) that there was a Complete Elf book in development. Ed |
| Southernskies02-22-04, 04:49 AM | The new Living Greyhawk Campaign Sourcebook update is due in the next two weeks, so wait until that is released before making your decision. I believe that this may be addressed in that. |
| Preacher of barbs02-23-04, 04:16 AM | MY Prestige class I'm getting next level is extinct in Complete Warrior. So whatever updating they do will probably justP iss me off. |
