I have a favour from an AR that states a few things, one feature is "you are offered a chance for a pegasis cohort (for donation 3k) the pegasuss still needs to be trained but starts with a freindly aTTITUDE TOWARDS THE pc:"

I have 2 questions

1.since it mentions cohort but seems to be more of a flavour thing i dunno, do i need the leadership feat or is this just there sutle way of saying u need to repect it as a cohort of it leaves.

2. In LG do i have acess to the training worth 1k to prepare it for riding etc since im not good at handle animal ?

thanks in advance

1. Yes, in order to gain it as a cohort, you must have the leadership feat.

2. I don't know. Where is the 1K training cost coming from?

in the description of pegasus it states "Professional trainers charge 1,000 gp to rear or train a pegasus, which serves its master with absolute faithfulness for life.Training a pegasus requires a successful Handle Animal check (DC 22 for a young creature, DC 29 for an adult) and that the creature be willing"

another thing i dont understand because the pegasus works diffrent to normal cohorts. In my understanding of cohort it would lelvel up and gaain gp, how does a pegasus level up, also im lvl 6 cha 8 since it has no level could i take it under the feat.

this is why i questioend the cert becuase the pegasuss does not have levels etc so it doesnt work how a normal cohort woud.

First, I would think that a pegasus is a mount, not a cohort, but what the heck do I know? If the AR says cohort then it must be so. Are they that intelligent? Without my MM in front of me I can't recall.

If you have 1000gp and access to a pegasus trainer then you wouldn't need to train the animal yourself, but it would be safe to assume that controlling it would be a lot easier with ranks in Handle Animal and Ride.

I don't know about the GP part of it, but you're pegasus could gain hit dice as it levels up and become more advance.

All in all, the idea of a pegasus cohort is strange, but a pegasus mount wouldn't be unheard of.

Your best bet is to contact your local Triad, if it's a Core AR or the Triad from the region the AR is from if it's a regional AR. They'll be able to clear it up for you as to what exactly the AR is supposed to mean.

I suspect that you have to pay the money, and the pegasus can then accompany you on adventures in the same way as a cohort (ie it adds to the total levels for the table, and takes up a player slot).

But yes, contact your Triad. It will probably help them if you have an interpretation of your own that they can agree with, or disagree with (it makes things easier for them).

Um, I'm relatively new to this campaign, so maybe I'm totally wrong, but I would assume that's a favor specifically designed for Paladins, just like gaining a limited spell is a favor specifically designed for a spellcaster.

In the DMG, it talks about Paladins being able to combine Leadership and their special mount-calling ability to get magical beast "cohorts" like Hippogriffs, Griffins and Pegasi. My guess is that that's the only way you could really have a Pegasus as a cohort. Just follow the rules outlined in the DMG.

Well, unless it specifically mentions Paladins, on its face, the AR would allow other folks to have it (so long as they had the leadership feat)...The DMG doesn't limit Special cohorts to paladins (just allows them to combine it with their mount), anyone can have a special cohort with DM permission (which is what the AR would be) p.199 DMG...

Pegasi have an ECL of 6th...not bad...And they've got ability scores high enough that if they advance as a normal cohort (and I don't see why they wouldn't) they could cast up to 3rd level Cleric or Sorcerer spells (assuming they can...the MM and DMG are a bit odd in 3.5 with that sort of thing)...

In any case, that's a pretty cool AR access...

ok so i do need the leadership feat, with a cha of 8 and a level of 6 would a pegasi join me ?

In a word, no...

In a few more words, no, because your leadership score is your level + cha modifier, which in your case comes out to 5...A leadership score of 5 gets you a 3rd level cohort...The pegasus is ECL 6...you will not be able to get the cohort until 10th level, unless you raise your charisma, or get some AR notation that raises your leadership score...

In any event, you can only have a cohort 2 levels below you or less...So you'll have to wait until 8th level in any case...
