| Platinum01-27-06, 05:52 PM | What do I do about psionics in my LG COR mod? I have no idea about this stuff! |
| Mortepierre01-27-06, 06:13 PM | Two answers: (I am assuming you're talking about a module you plan on writing) a) "it's a kind of magic", the solution used in the MM where some monsters get innate sp abilities which are simply described as "psionic" in nature, rather than "magical" (the Yuan-ti for instance). No change. Simply use them as listed. b) "it's not magic, it's psionic!". Since LG doesn't (and probably never will) use the rules from the ExPsHB, that book's content is off limit. Since you can't use it, it shouldn't appear in your module. Problem solved. Now, if what you're saying is that you downloaded a LG Core module, are preparing to run it for players, and discovered (true) psionic-using monsters in it, I would be really interested to know what module it is given point b above! |
| Platinum01-27-06, 11:15 PM | It's a late year 05 cor: immortal longings I think. A friend will be DMing it and she asked me: "What do I do when a monster has psionics?" I don't know what monster she is refering too, but she states the entry for it is all about psionics. Why do we have psionics in core mods of LG? |
| TheBlackFlail01-28-06, 12:14 AM | Some monsters have "Psionics" entries (even if they aren't from Expanded Psionics Handbook) that aren't psionic in the sense that they don't use the Expanded Psionics Handbook rules. Simply treat all of the abilities under the psionics entry in the monster's description as Spell Like abilities, usable at will (or as often as it says they are useable). |
| Mortepierre01-28-06, 05:35 AM | From the SRD: Psionics (Sp): These are spell-like abilities that a creature generates with the power of its mind. Psionic abilities are usually usable at will. |
