Question about armor upgrade [Archive] - Wizards Community

I have a Full Plate +1 (1650 + 1000 = 2650 gp).

I want to upgrade it to a sacred armor (i have access). The market price is +2 bonus.

Does i mean I have to pay 4000 gp (+2 bonus) or I have to add the previous bonus and pay 9000 gp (+3 bonus) to upgrade my armor? :confused:

08-03-06, 10:16 AM In order to upgrade a weapon or suit of armor, you must pay the difference between the enhancement you have now and the enhancement you will end up with.

In the example you pose, you have a +1 armor and will end with a +3 armor, so you must pay (9000 gp - 1000 gp) = 8000 gp.
