Ok, I just got back from a game day and I have a few questions. I'm relatively new to Living Greyhawk, so please be gentle.

1) Is Knowledge: Local a cross-class skill for a Wizard? Stupid question, I know, but I'm entering my character in two different generators to double-check my stats (HeroForge 3.5 and eTools w/ the 3.5 database installed) and HF says it's a cross-class skill while eTools says it's not. I'm pretty sure it's a class skill, considering it's Knowledge, but since it's for LG, I'm double-checking

2) I'm a lawful neutral necromancer worshipping Wee Jas. If I cast animate dead and other necro spells with the evil descriptor, do I risk an alignment change to evil, and thus lose my character?

I know I had more... just can't remember them at the moment. I'll post them when I do. Thanks!

Knowledge: Local (which in LG is by MetaRegion) is a class skill for Bards, Rogues, and Wizards. This is per the PHB3.5

It should be noted that while Hero Forge is a great tool, it is still in development. And thus has a few errors that still need to be worked out. If you notice any error like this you should send off an email to Shannon Greene. I use the Hero Forge spread sheet quite often, and really like it. So lets help get the kinks worked out.

The only correct answer to this is, its up to the DM if it is an evil act or not.

Me, I consider the casting of any spell with an alignment descriptor an act of that kind, and I'll note them if the caster is not of a similar alignment. Example: a Chaotic Good wizards casts a Lawful spell, I'll make note of it (maybe the player wants to change alignment for some reason). I always note acts that I consider evil and report them to the player's Triad.

Now, only a Triad or Circle member can remove your character from permanent play.

Now I remember what the last question was.

I wanted to add Comprehend Languanges to my spellbook. I bought a scroll of it, but I'm not sure how to "officially" go about getting it added to my spellbook. Here's what we did: the judge for my last table had me put the scroll on my AR, then do the spellcraft roll to copy the scroll in front of him. We then marked the scroll spent on my magical item log sheet and I added the spell to my repitoire. Was there anything else I needed to do?

That was fine. Though you need to pay the material cost for copying the spell into your speelbook. I believe this is 100gp per spell level. Also note that you can take 10 on your spellcraft check. And the process takes no additional TUs.

Unless it has changed, it's no big deal to learn new spells and it's by far cheaper to copy from someone else's spell book rather than copying from a scroll. The rule for LG has been that you could copy your caster level in spell levels after each mod (e.g. a 3rd level wizard could copy up to 3 levels of spells - 3 1st level or 1 1st and 1 2nd). The cost dropped in 3.5 to 100 gp per spell level and each spell level takes 2 pages in your 100 page spell book.

Ok, so I'll just mark the gold spent on scribing the spell on my next AR. Thanks! I knew I had to be missing something. Btw, it's 100gp to scribe PLUS the cost of the scroll, right? I should know this, but I'm at work ATM and can't check my books. Thanks again.

Correct. It is 100 gold per spell level to write the spell in your spellbook. If you are copying from a scroll, you must also have the scroll at whatever it cost. That's why you want to maximize your copying when you're at a table with another wizard. If you regularly play with another wizard, you should plan ahead of time what spells you're going to learn at your next levels, so you get as many different ones as you can. I've often learned "odd", but useful spells so that I had something to offer for the more popular spells.
