I submitted a request to my local triad to play the drunken Master pclass and this was my response:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
We aren't approving the
Drunken Master class within Nyrond. Our country is too lawful and
law-abiding, the guards too good at their jobs, and the citizens too
unlikely to stand for such displays.

We have two monasteries in Nyrond, and neither sponsors anything
remotely approaching the Drunker Master p.class. While we cannot
prevent a player from traveling outside of Nyrond to obtain the class,
we do not feel that the class adds anything to the concept of Nyrond,
nor does the class fit well within the storyline, plot or scenarios
within Nyrond.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------

to me this insinuates i can go outside of the region to get this pclass. I have a few questions about this:

1. How do I change regions?

2. Do I have to stay with the new region as my home region to continue levelling in the DM Pclass?

3. What regions are currently offering the DM Pclass?

4. Do I physically have to go there or can it just be said that my char is from there/has travelled there (New char/current one)

5. Is any of this really needed or can i just go drinking with a current DM during a campaign? the prereq I am missing is the "must be invited to join in on the revelery by a DM and survive etc."

As of the last thing I heard from a Dyvers Triad member, you can request a special mission to meet the requirements for Drunken Master. I don't even think you need to be in a Meta-Org for them to do it either.

To answer your points:

1. How do I change regions?

The LGCS says you are allowed to change home regions 1 time in a year if you email the Triad and get their permission. If you change a 2nd time, you spend TUs

2. Do I have to stay with the new region as my home region to continue levelling in the DM Pclass?

You'll most likely have to stay a citizen of the region you gained access to DM, unless you contact the Triad of the region you want to move to and they give you permission.

3. What regions are currently offering the DM Pclass?

Dyvers is the only place I have personal knowledge, but I'm sure there are others

4. Do I physically have to go there or can it just be said that my char is from there/has travelled there (New char/current one)

You'll have to go to a convention of the region your character is from, because that is the only place I've ever seen Triads run a special mission. It wouldn't hurt to play a few Regionals or Metaregionals from that area either.

5. Is any of this really needed or can i just go drinking with a current DM during a campaign? the prereq I am missing is the "must be invited to join in on the revelery by a DM and survive etc."

The prereq must either be met in a scenerio that has been approved by a regional Triad or Co6. It can't just be made up as part of gameplay in another mod.

Heres what the LGCS 3.0 says about how to change your home region without actually moving:
"Each year on January 1st you may change your characters home region. This becomes your characters home region for the rest of that year."

In looking into the PrC in the LGCS 3.0, it is Limited, meaning you cant just pick it once you meet the requirements, you must be 3rd level and have campaign documentation to access the class. Looking deeper we see that the documentation you need is "be chosen by an existing Drunken Master and the night of revelery must be specificlly mentioned on the AR."

So, to gain access to this class you would need to meet, in game, a Drunken Master, have him invite you to a night of revelry and survive, and then have this documented on an AR. Changing home regions isnt neccissarily what you need to concentrate on. First you should try to determine if any scenarios actually even contain a Drunken Master NPC for you to meet. Without meeting one, you can never gain access to this PrC. Once you find a scenario with a Drunken Master (assuming you do) you need to make sure that the Judge running it knows you want to pursue the night of revelry and invites you, or try to role play into the invite during the course of the scenario. After the revelry (assuming you survive) you have to have the Judge specifically mention it on the AR. After all this hoop jumping, next time you level you can choose this PrC. Note: if you can find a player that has already attained the PrC it may be a little easier than the course I laid out, just ask him to invite you and have a Judge sign off on the AR after you survive the revelry.

You may find, through asking around on these boards, other ways to join the PrC. Some Meta-region groups may offer access to the class without all the hoop jumping. I am in the Yeomanry region and none of my meta-region groups offer access to the PrC you want to access.

If you ever do get access to the class there is no limitation saying you have to stay in that region to continue advancing in it in the LGCS. If you access the class through a meta-regional group there could be a restriction like this (all Meta-Orgs for my region have this restriction).

As a player of a Drunken Master myself let me invite you to the friendly kingdom of KEOLAND!!!!

Come to the Good Hills, where the beer is always great and the parties never stop. Everything is Good in the Good Hills.

Here is where you can find MULTIPLE meta-org access to drunken master. Also a retired Keoland mod had access along with ANOTHER interactive that ALSO gave access... I mean come on... Keoland is pretty much GIVING away access to Drunken Master. So what are you waiting for?!?!?! Come on over and JOIN THE PARTY!!!!!!

If I transfer to keoland will I still have to do the night of revelry thing, or is there a metaorg I could join without having to travel in person to NY,NJ, or PA? It would be ideal if I could have my char move without having to do so myself, but if nessacery i could take a trip out there to gain access. Does Keoland have a website? Thanks for this info.

I have to comment on the Nyrond Triad's position on the Drunken Master PrC: I think it is unfair. It's almost an irrational paranoia. And, I think the real issue is a personal dislike of the Drunken Master PrC. Of course, they use the specious argument about Nyrond being "Lawful, city watch effectiveness and peaceable monestaries. He stopped short of saying. "We don't have barroom brawls and tavern fights in Nyrond." If things are so blissful and orderly in Nyrond, it sounds like the region doesn't need adventuring PCs. Suggesting that a PC move to another region - what is that about? I'd like to retain our regional members.

With issues like the Valorous League running amok in Woodverge; Sewarndt still on the loose, stoking rebelious sentiment; a shattered army; a lurking, menacing Great Kingdom to the east; and trouble brewing in Almor, I think the Nyrond Triad should worry less about a harmless PrC and more about pressing, regional cmapaign issues.

What's next? Prohibiting players from using characters that are Clerics of Trithereon?

LOL, besides this trivial Drunken Master PrC issue, the region is managed very well. I really like the region - I just disagree with this particular issue. Let the player have his fun.

Just because a region doesn't support (i.e., provide campaign documentation through ARs or metagroups) a particular class, it doesn't mean that they are unheard of; just that they are rare enough or so few in number that they are unable to form the sort of prescence that would be needed to realistically provide normal access in the region. I don't see anything wrong with that.
