Quick Question for the unenlightened [Archive] - Wizards Community

11-23-04, 12:50 AM Just wondering if anyone can help fill me in. I am new to LG and don't fully understand the AR information. Specifically a favor granted to me which reads that a group
"Will upgrade my armor or shield that you possess from a masterwork to +1 or a +1 to a +2 enhancement bonus. You must pay the cost for this upgrade."
Now based on this I would assume I coud get a MW buckler made into a +1 buckler and would have to pay the additional 1000 GP. However I thought this could be done at any time am I wrong in this and how does this favor differ if I am not?

11-23-04, 06:53 AM No, you're correct. However, that wasn't always the case. The favor is probably from an older mod where you needed specific access for those things.

11-23-04, 08:39 PM Even if it is a favor from an older mod it is still better than the old option of selling your MW gear for half price and then paying full price for the +1 gear.

I've saved several thousand GP myself using upgrade favors from Meta-orgs and favors. I calculate over 10000gp just this year for my high-level character.

Don't underestimate upgrades, because you may be able to use that gold for something else cool further down the road.
