This one might work as a good jack-of-all-trades. Drop intelligence to 10 if you want to get Dex to 16 straight away.

Human ranger:

Str: 14 (6)
Dex: 15 (8)
Con: 14 (6)
Int: 12 (4)
Wis: 12 (4)
Cha: 8 (0)

Feats: Point Blank shot, Precise Shot
Fav. enemy: Human (well...duh!)

Laughed when I saw that one and then I started thinking about it. Vast majority of the bad guys are human. There's nothing really EVIL about having Human's as the favorite enemy.

What about a wood elf??? What would people recommend???

08-04-04, 06:51 PM Sorry I can't quote a source right but I'm quite certain a human can't take human as a favored enemy. This may be something living greyhawk has "house ruled" into being legal however so send an email to you triad and ask.

That was a 3.0 rule which went away with 3.5.

08-12-04, 02:54 AM My multiclass ranger type has been quite successful and started out with these stats:

Human (Suel), Male

STR 16
DEX 10
CON 15
INT 12
WIS 10
CHA 10

I used my 4th & 8th level stat bumps for WIS

He started out as a fighter and his first 3 feats were Power Attack, Cleave & Blind Fight

I chose 2-handed fighting for the fighting style, but since he has fighter levels he wears heavy armor that cancels it out.

Wolves & Dogs are the best companions in my estimation.

Favored Enemies are: Human +4 & Orc +2

As a Horizon Walker PrC I'm using the class skill speak language to learn every PC speakable language besides Druidic
