| Howie2307-12-07, 03:25 AM | Given that replies in the Q/A thread are off-limits to other than Circle, but that the replies don't require Circle's time...Hell, I'm bored. Responding to: http://boards1.wizards.com/showpost.php?p=13037314&postcount=583 New to LG. I would like to GM some and play some. Welcome. Is there a breakout of each of the modules which are prohibited from playing if you GM'd others? If you have downloaded, obtained, judged, or read a given module, you may not play that module. For modules with the same designation, but mutliple parts, the trend so far has been that once you judge any part, you may not play any other part. This is specifically true for Red Hand of Doom and Barrow what-ever. Edit: If you the senior judge of a gameday, retail event, or convention, you may play the mod up to the end of the event, assuming you haven't spoiled the mod by reading/running it. Is there a site with summaries of the modules so you know what they are like before you download them to play or start playing? Each of the CORe and ADaPted modules (ADP) has a description on the WotC download site. http://www.nyrond.org has ratings and descriptions in addition. There is a good Onwall site as well (URL?) How do you know the APL they support when all you have is: ADP6-01 Fantastic Locations: Fane of the Drow ADP6-02 Hellspike Prison ADP6-03 Red Hand of Doom: Part 1 The description in the database states the APL. I don't know what resource you are using, but the title is just the start. Note that a few of the ADPs quote incorrect APL, but usually only by one level. Hellspike comes to mind..happy to be corrected if I am wrong or if it has changed. What if you download modules to run for people, but you don't like the module? Do you download more? Is there a limit to how many you can download? Especially if you are not reporting having ran the previous downloads? You download a mod. You read it. You run it or not. You report it (even if unplayed). You move on. There may be a procedure if you repeatedly download but don't run to cut you off, but I doubt it. Each download is a separate action, and you need to resolve each download (even if unplayed.) If you never report your downloads, the system will stop you from downloading more. What do these letters and numbers mean? ADP6-02 Hellspike Prison ADP is the adventure path? COR is another? 6 is the year? You can only play in certain years? 02 is the number in the sequence? Each module in Living Greyhawk has a three-letter code. ADP=Adapted. COR=Core. Other codes usually are regions. The code for Greyhawk-whatever will prove me wrong. The number after the three letter code is the year. 6 corresponds to 2006. A scenario with year-code 6 may run in 2006 or 2007. The number after the dash is a sequential designator. Note that some regions use a format similar to NYR6-S01, where there is another character after the dash to indicate the nature of the scenario. These can vary by region. I see so little discussion on modules, is it improper to discuss modules you have played? Like how it is improper to discuss questions from a test before someone else takes the test? Providing or obtaining information about a scenario or module is an ethics violation. Don't offer the info. Don't solicit the info. That said, it sometimes shows up on the boards or in verbal conversations. Do your best to distance yourself from spoilers and exclude yourself from playing a given scenario if you get too much info. Discussions about current scenarios (those you can download and play now) are off limits. David |
