| Rawveggie02-15-07, 06:17 PM | Howdy, So I got access to the Ruathar from Races of the Wild from an LG scenario. I looked in the new LGCS and could not find a reference on how to handle the first level class feature of "gift of the Elves". Not to give away too many spoilers, this class feature is effectively a free magic item. How should this be handled? Or did I miss it in the new LGCS? -Raw |
| Akhamshyy02-15-07, 06:39 PM | You should contact your triad. Around here (Keoland) we have to pay for the elven item, it's no freebe. |
| cycloptic_squirrel02-15-07, 07:23 PM | You should contact your triad. Around here (Keoland) we have to pay for the elven item, it's no freebe. Or on another source of access, it is a freebie, but you also have to spend 2,800 gp and a TU to throw a celebration party/ceremony. |
| Genghis Cohen02-19-07, 05:33 PM | You should contact your triad. Around here (Keoland) we have to pay for the elven item, it's no freebe.Only if you access it through a metaorg. Otherwise the Gift of the Elves is no extra charge. |
| indar02-20-07, 01:53 PM | No, actually, if you gain access through a Keoland metaorg the rules are in the metaorg document. If you gain access in a Keoland mod the rules are as follows: > Either way the requirements are the same. You join the class via > metaorg you have to buy the gift, ceremony off camera. You have > access via a mod, you STILL have to fufill the special requirement > and buy the gift item, ceremony still off camera. You may obviously > choose which item but you must purchase it using the normal rules for > items, which means you have to have access to buy the cloak or boots, > but may obviously get a +1 weapon of your choice. This is ONLY the > Keoish rule. I cannot speak on how any other triad will want to > handle this class. Now, if you gain access through a Core source (and it is out there), a Core ruling is needed. There is none to my knowledge. |
| kenobi6502-20-07, 02:52 PM | Now, if you gain access through a Core source (and it is out there), a Core ruling is needed. There is none to my knowledge. Britt just addressed it in the "LG Questions" thread on this board. Fundamentally: if it's in a Core module, and no other notes are given, put it on your MIL with a 0 gp cost. |
| indar02-20-07, 04:55 PM | Yes, that's why I had just asked him. :) If it's regional, contact your triad. |
| Akhamshyy02-20-07, 05:42 PM | Not that I'm apposed to free stuff, but.. Now we're giving free magic items away? |
| Britt02-20-07, 05:45 PM | That's what the PrC does. It doesn't say "They let you purchase one of the following". It's a gift and gifts are free. |
| Akhamshyy02-20-07, 06:10 PM | Wow, I like that we are letting the PrC work without inserting any meta-rules into it. It feels oddly reaffirming to know the game will play as it's written. |
