Do you get premade characters for Scions or can you bring in your own?

I believe the standard is to pick your PC from a group of premade characters.

The party for each table is listed here:

http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=rpga/genconindy/20070618a

All tables are composed of six players, all tables have the same party. The players can work out who will play which character.

One thing to note is that all casters are spontaneous casters. Sitting down and working out the exact spells that you should take slows down gameplay immensely in tournament situation.

Yup...AFAIK (going back at least 25 years), the D&D Open has always been pre-generated PCs.

In the past couple of years, they've started to announce them ahead of time, and even give the players a chance to have input on which of several options gets put into the party...but once you sit down at the table, you and the other players have 6 PCs to split up amongst yourselves, and you're playing the same set of 6 PCs as every other table.

I played the D&D Open in '01 and '02; at that point, you had no idea what the PCs were going to be until you sat down at the table for Round 1 of the Open, and you were given the stack of character sheets.

You should see the full character sheets online for the Open characters a few weeks before Gen Con Indy.
