Who all has access to the new search function? I do, and I'm curious about how they chose the users to give search access.

I also do. Probably volume of posts.

I do too. I thought that it might have something to do with me complaining about the lack of a search function in the forums at the time that DI was announced. Anyway, I'm grateful that I have it again.

Well, considering the massive number of posts I have....I also got the search function...so it's not based on that.

I know the first group of people to get it was UnCon prizewinners: http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=854949. At this point I suspect that everyone has it.

I have it as well, and it's proved quite helpful, though I haven't needed it much. I bet they did it based on post count as well. The announcement indicates that not everyone has access to it currently.

I have it. Never thought I would need it, but I've already put it to good use. So, I'm glad to have it!

I have had it for a while, didn't know it was limited to people... (should really read the announcements huh)

I have it. A waste to give it to me; I never missed it in the first place.

how do we figure out if we have it or not?

Look at the top bar that has My Account, Calendar, Code of Contact etc in it. It'll be the second from the right, next to log out.

I've actually found the search function mostly useless so far really. However it does it's searches, Google does a far better job. For example "/Divine" isn't found when I search for "Divine". And when searching for "Divine Prankster" I get threads with only "Divine" in it, no Prankster involved. Very poor. If they added a simple "all words/exact phrase/etc" type toggle then we could be getting somewhere. I also suspect that the search engine only gives you the first 100 pages found, not everything found. Bleh. Back to Google.

I have it. I sent a message to the admin asking if there was a place to provide feedback (what an idea), but haven't received a response.

I'd prefer they swap it with the forum tools heading.

Agreed. I keep trying to click on my forum tools for mark all read, and instead click on the search button.

That's exactly why I'd like them to move it.
