Being new to the Living Greyhawk game, I was wondering if there are certain languages besides common that are spoken and by whom.

If you check in the Living Greyhawk Gazetter, in the front area of each regional entery, It should say population human and OSF etc, O = Oeridian, F = Flan and S = Suel. The largest entry is for the biggest human poluation and you can pick the language for the human sub group. Elves, halfings etc have their own languages...

If you enjoy the campaign, I would suggest picking up a copy. Amazon.com should have some still.

Since you're in the Shield Lands, I would suggest Elven, no matter what race you are. Also, don't forget Ancient Baklunish, Rhopan (Rhenee), and Olman (although I've never run into an Olman in game).

It all depends on your character concept too. If you're a half-orc barbarian, you may not care too much, if you're a bard, you might want to know several.

I play a horizon walker as my main character, and they get speak language as a class skill, just like the bard, so I've spent my extra skill points there and have all human sub-races, besides Olman, and all PC languages, besides Druidic, plus Draconic. I also understand spoken Aquan, although I can't speak or read it (it is something I got from a retired mod).

Its kind of fun being able to speak all of those languages in game, because most times I understand what is being said, and someone doesn't have to burn a Tongues or Comprehend Languages spell.
