So I just got a box in the mail that was from Wizards of the Coast....It had a plushy brain in it with the writing:

MOCTODSDR

AZIWTAXAM

EELG

did anyone else get this because I'm pretty sure that it might be a puzzle...or it might be a bomb.

Yes, I did. They aren't going out to everyone apparently, though I have no idea how they are picking the recipients. Each brain I'm guessing would cost about 2 to 3 USD to make, package, and ship, so there's no way they are sending them to everyone. I think it has something to do with an upcoming project of some kind, but I don't know. Do a search on 'Gleemax' and that should give you some insight.

I was respondent #62, apparently.

Got one, as well.

Someone has too much time (and money) on their hands. :P

Read the words backwards.

So Britt, did you get a reply from gleemax at wizards.com? Has anyone?
Britt

Yes I did. Respondent #62. Didn't really say much other than that I would be getting further information later.

Somebody else sent something out about it. I never actually received a football, but I totally sent an e-mail anyway.

I was respondent #10.

I wish, trying to write two papers, could do with a brain in the mail...

Well, my mom (yes, I live with my parents) got one in the mail, and when she sent off her e-mail she didn't get a response (which, after reading this thread, seems odd).

Did anyone else not get a response?

One of the players at the Gameday I run managed to be respondent #2. This is a copy of the email that he posted:

"YOU ARE RESPONDENT NUMBER 2. I WOULD COMMEND YOU, THOUGH I SUSPECT IT HAS MORE TO DO WITH YOUR PROXIMITY TO MY MAIL MINIONS THAN YOUR MENTAL CAPACITY.

HOWEVER, YOU WILL HAVE A HIGH PLACE IN THE NEW WORLD. FURTHER
INSTRUCTIONS TO FOLLOW.

GLEEMAX"

I thought it was funny that "Gleemax" thought he knew someone in the mail room considering we live in the state of Texas not Washington.

I didn't, either. I suspect that only the first X respondents (possibly 100) got responses. Either that, or "Gleemax" is off for the weekend. ;)

They were sent from Texas, which is what he is implying. I received the same comment, along with another comment about my question about how a brain uses email.

They seemingly are only going out during business hours, so if you didn't get an email in before Friday afternoon, you likely won't receive a response until Monday, if at all.

My e-mail took offense to calling his habitation module a "jar".

He must have felt quite a bit of "amniotisty" toward you.

Of course, someone said formeldehyde, but ... :smirk:

I had no idea they were being shipped from Texas. I just assumed the shipping would be coming from the same state as the corporate offices. Obviously, that was a bad assumption.

Many of their shipments actually come from TX. I think the cards might be printed elsewhere, but I know books are printed in TX.

Oh thank god. I mentioned this to a couple folks in my LG group and they all looked at me like I was insane. Received it on Friday, no response yet.

It does seem a wee bit magic related rather than D&D.

I doubt the "first 100 reponses" idea is true unless they are wanting to end up with a sample almost entirely from the continental united states.

Well, we'll see if the rest of us start getting e-mail replies from "Gleemax" when the WotC offices re-open tomorrow morning. :)

Now I know you weren't supposed to do that.

Gleemax will be most displeased...and you've probably destroyed the reason for the mailing if others copy this example.

The brain was probably a reward for something, or some weird form of recruitment drive ala google puzzle.

meh, you'll find out :) They should know who they sent brains to anyways.

Did anyone else get a bizarre quiz via e-mail from Gleemax?

05-31-07, 12:37 AM
I did. It looks like it'll require some time researching on the the internet.
Britt

It doesn't take much time. Just figure out a few of them and you can extrapolate the rest.

so, I asked Gleemax the other day if he had any connection to Dnd cuz currently, he's only related to Magic. To qoute His Cerebralness, Gleemax, to find him in dnd we should "Look to 4th edition".

I'm doing as Gleemax asked, but my original zeal from thinking I may recieve swag has really flagged.
