| Magical_Lin11-14-05, 05:06 PM | I'm currently playing a 3rd level cleric of Celestian in Nyrond. I thought Void Disciple would fit with the flavor of her deity (Celestian is the god of the night sky, divination, wanderers), so I gave her Spell Penetration; a feat which is otherwise virtually useless for a good-aligned cleric. This was with the 594 campaign documentation, which said Void Disciple was a Core PrC. Then I download the 595 docs, and lo and behold, someone decided that LG wasn't going to use Void Disciple anymore! Arrrrgh! So, two questions here. I would really like to ditch this feat now that the PrC it was intended for is no longer valid. Is that possible? If not, can anyone give me pointers on effective ways for a low level NG cleric with Knowledge and Travel domains to use Spell Penetration? |

It deals with all the changes you can make to your LG character to convert them from using "builder book" material to using material from the "complete" series. It applys to converting characters not played since March and basically allows you to completely refactor your classes, skills, and feats (with some exceptions, mostly relating to item creation). |

Get to higher levels, where you'll be facing more opponents with Spell Resistance. Sorry for the smart-alec response (kind of :P), but I mean it... when I converted the last time I switched a first-level feat TO Spell Penetration. It may only be a +2 to the roll, but every little bit helps, the way my dice roll. :) |

Greater Command (all outsiders can understand you). Many of the best cleric spells are intended for use against enemies with spell resistance, and require spell resistance. It might not be a good feat if you don't intend to do offensive spellcasting, but all the clerics I know with the feat (including my wife) are pretty happy with it. There are other good feats, but we're not talking skill focus (basketweaving) here. |
