| haferka07-04-07, 02:29 PM | Please allow Regional judges to host mods from their home region to ANY player.. This would allow more players to get a taste of that regions flavor, but since its an intro.. they wont get any special access.. just flavor. |
| Prof. Pacali07-04-07, 03:22 PM | I'm not sure I understand your request. Regional DMs can already do that in their region. |
| GreatSiron07-04-07, 03:31 PM | I think he wants permission to run his regions intros anywhere in the world. |
| berpo07-04-07, 03:50 PM | And I really like this idea. It could be really fun to try some intro mod from around the world. The only problem will be that we will have so many characters !!! Marc |
| Simpi07-04-07, 04:02 PM | I am definetly against this suggestion. This kind of thing is a slippery slope and if something like this would be allowed, I guarantee that within 24h someone would start a thread "Allow judges to run regionals anywhere BUT just one per year" (or something similiar) in a further attempt to demolish the regional system. | GreatSiron07-04-07, 06:13 PM | I'm with Simpi on this one, for the reasons he stated. It's something that will lead to trouble. |

Sampo Haarlaa Naerie Triad I understand your reluctance to take on more work. How about if you allowed local triads to decide? OR Allow regional intro mods to be playable in ANY of the Metaregional locations? I really don't see Regional mods ever beig OPEN like core mods. |
| clannagh07-04-07, 09:22 PM | or just make a selection of the most colorful intros core mods |
| haferka07-04-07, 09:28 PM | I'm with Simpi on this one, for the reasons he stated. It's something that will lead to trouble. cowards... you wouldn't last 10 minutes in a BK intro anyway. ;) |
| control freak07-04-07, 09:34 PM | cowards... you wouldn't last 10 minutes in a BK intro anyway. i want to play one :) i am always scolded for being a power gamer and have to hold back or i get yelled at by like the whole store worth of people that play, stupid easy Vel regionals, however the VTF metaregion is a bit stronger ;) id like to play a BK at high levels *gumbles stupid conservitave ohio grumble grumble no good favors grumble grumble* |
| Puggle Halfwine07-04-07, 10:30 PM | cowards... you wouldn't last 10 minutes in a BK intro anyway. "An Allip eats you. Roll up a new character." |
| Simpi07-04-07, 11:48 PM | How about if you allowed local triads to decide?. No. Triads would always make different rulings on these, hence some regions (if this theoretical suggestions were to be allowed) would offer modules while others none. Allow regional intro mods to be playable in ANY of the Metaregional locations?. No. cowards... you wouldn't last 10 minutes in a BK intro anyway. ESA3-08 Prisoners of the Calling mines: Welcome to LG. You start with no equipment, manacles in your legs and there are half-orc guards 15ft away with whips. And that was the easy part, followed by various underground hazards and as grand finale, an Allip. Sampo Haarlaa Naerie Triad |
| Britt07-05-07, 03:51 AM | "An Allip eats you. Roll up a new character." Allips can't kill you. |
| Cardinal Teplin07-05-07, 08:46 AM | cowards... you wouldn't last 10 minutes in a BK intro anyway. ;) That's the one universal I've noticed in LG - most people seem to think that their own region is tougher than the others. It's weird, they can't all be right. |
| gomeztoo07-05-07, 09:31 AM | I don't think our region is tougher. I merely think it's the more fun ;) *runs for cover* |
| Lupo07-05-07, 10:29 AM | I don't think our region is tougher. I merely think it's the more fun ;) *runs for cover* what is the hardness of your cover  does it grant "cover" or "total cover" :P and yes, "prisoners of the calling mines" was an intro module that had a potential to wipe out parties without a a lot of experience. and the feeling to start ones career with a dept to a church, because otherwise the drained wisdom will stay ;) is just unbeatable :D ciao martin m. ps: still i loved it and it was definitely a great introduction to the meta region :) |
| gomeztoo07-05-07, 10:45 AM | ps: still i loved it and it was definitely a great introduction to the meta region :) It was interesting. I played in the playtest, which has a slightly different start that put my PC on the wrong foot. Having spent over twenty years in the mines, she didn't see any reason to escape. In her mind, it felt like suicide, and I found it very strange that, the instant the game started, people plotted escape... I mean, go where? We are in the middle of the mines, surrounded by hostile orcs. Nobody ever escaped before, and trying to survive in the caves means starvation, madness, or, more likely, both. So, unfortunately, I wasn't much use in the initial encounter, as my PC (and the PC she as chained to) refused to aid in the escape. Neither did she had anything against the allip, especially as she had refused to listen to the 'voices' (which gives you a boon, but really... I didn't survive 20 years in the mines by listenign to voices and going mad...). So, not the best start for the PC, and as a result I never played her afterwards. Wished I had played it with Greaser. Would have worked much better. Note that in the final, they changed the start so that it is more enticing to escape. They also put in rules so the voices give you at least something to fight the allip. I DMed it a few times afterwards and it worked much better, though I almost TPKed a party with the darkmantles. |
| control freak07-05-07, 01:51 PM | very small dragons... in "would be intro" mods :D |
| Timlagor07-05-07, 05:01 PM | You mean like the dragon that thought Fly-By negated AoOs? Darkmantles had extremely variable success but they were certainly able to kill people. |
