| Max_Writer11-12-04, 08:26 AM | Is there any single list of events (like the old Living Greyhawk Gazetteer dispatches) that tell what has happened on Greyhawk since the LLG was put out (591 CY and after?). I'm talking about the various things that have occured according to Living Greyhawk adventures (I recently heard on the Greyhawk board that King Kimbertos Skotti of Keoland was assassinated in 594 CY). |
| Greyson11-13-04, 11:47 PM | Hey, Max_Writer. I don't think there is a single, comprehensive list for the whole campaign, regrettably. I think your best bet is to visit each regional Web site and browse through their histories. Hopefully, each region/Triad has an up-to-date history. Some regions even have past, present and future plotlines, or builder lists, buried in their sites. I think that' s the best we can do. I hope this helps. :) |
| Max_Writer11-15-04, 12:13 PM | Thanks for the info Greyson. I have to find the time to hit all of the LG websites. Hopefully WoTC will get something out for this. With the LG timeline continually moving forward, I'd love to incorporate some of their official timeline into my own campaign. |
| Greyson11-15-04, 11:01 PM | You know what would be cool is another Living Greyhawk Gazetteer installment. Updating the campaign to 595 CY. A few of the regions have made big changes since the original LGG - and that has probably spurred your question, Max_writer. I'm sure such an item is wishful thinking, however. But it would be very useful, I think. |

If LG stays around, it would just be practical to issue one every 5 years or so instead of tasking the triads with all that bookkeeping. In the mean time, if the triads were required to keep a more comprehensive history posted somewhere, that would help too. All they would have to do is include the basic information that any PC could have common knowledge of. Most of the docks in Dyvers were destroyed by fire in 592CY and it took over a year to restore them. The fires also ravaged the nearby warehouses and poor district, leading to 40% inflation, rising crime rates, and several displaced citizens. The efforts of the city's many adventurers and cooperation from the denizens of the Gnarley Forest helped speed the recovery process. |

All they would have to do is include the basic information that any PC could have common knowledge of. This kind of information is kept on several regional pages. Unfortunately there will always be backlog since announcing the results of a module with campaign consequences (core modules seem to lack such things..) months before it actually retires is unpractical and spoils the module for those who have yet to play it. If LG stays around, it would just be practical to issue one every 5 years or so instead of tasking the triads with all that bookkeeping. I e-mailed Charles Ryan a few months ago and he stated there will NOT be another WOTC Greyhawk book. So I doubt WOTC will pony up another LGG. Mike |
| pauln611-24-04, 04:01 AM | I'm trying to stitch together my own gazeteer from modules, LGG, Canonfire and official gazeteers, and it is really hard! It is almost impossible to keep track of all events on all LGG websites, particularly as some do not keep records on the websites. In some cases u only find out what has been going on if an issue crops up for discussion in one of the Yahoo groups. If each regional triad could prepare a list with dates and basic details of major events for someone to collate, it would be such a help to a lot of us fans. Heck, I'd even be prepared to collate it and update it myself, as I'm sure would many other fans. All we need is the information! |
| Max_Writer11-24-04, 07:55 AM | Ditto. I'd be more than willing to help. |
