I'm trying to get a Year 5 fire sale game day going and wanted some opinions on the best ones to run/play.

No spoilers please. Just looking for opinions on what you felt were the mods that were most fun to play and had the best story, etc.

Please limit your picks to 3 at most.

Thanks in advance.

"Clipping Wings" is great. Might suffer a bit if you didn't get a chance to play "Shedding Scales" or "Here There Be Dragons", but good all the same.

I also enjoyed "Retribution".

Have only played about half of the year 5 cores so far, but of the ones I've played I'd also vote for 5-19 Retribution.

"Clipping Wings" was easily my favorite to run, though it wasn't as much fun when I played it (wasn't fully prepped).

"Atonement" is a good one.

"All Roads Lead to Rauxes" was also a lot of fun.

Of course, the Year 5 Cores introduced the Bright Sands story arc. If you haven't played any of those adventures, though they're all fairly average, if you want to gain a first-hand appreciation for the main story arc, those would be the way to go, especially "Blood on Bright Sands," "Gateway to Bright Sands," and "Time's Tide on Bright Sands." (Actually, "Gateway" and "Time's Tide" were pretty good, but they don't stand alone quite so well as the first three I listed.)

I liked Atonement, Voice of Reason (it's a double, so might not be suitable), and A Marked Man.

You need the proper keyboard.

Atonement and Voice of Reason are well written modules. They don't put the characters on rails but instead are written with a lot of leeway as to how the characters will solve the adventure.

Of the Bright Sands modules I'd say that Mines of the Eye is essential to play before the year is out and that Times Tide on Bright Sands was the coolest in terms of a premise for an adventure. Truly epic, even at APL 2!

Return to the Undercity was very nostalgic for me. I played in Slave Pits of the Undercity back in the 1980s. When we stepped into the dungeon, my first words were, "My God! I remember this room!"

Same here! I was really glad to see the start of this story arc with Marked Man. I'm glad the Slavers are finally seeing a part in the Core story arcs!

I enjoyed running it for you guys, Bill. I just wish it had been under better circumstances than a cramped motel room and midnight madness. With what's been going on in the PoU lately, this arc ties in very nicely, as you'll see as you get into the year 6 modules that continue the unofficial series.
