Favored Soul has a slower progression on spells than clerics to begin with and multiclassing is only going to make that worse. The other big problem with Favored Soul is that the loss of Domains, Turn Undead, and Knowledge Religion makes qualifying for a lot of the Cleric PrCs next to impossible. The special/supernatural abilities that Favored Souls pick up make PrCs less of a priority than they frequently can be for Clerics, though even those are spaced out a bit more than I'd like. Beyond that... before you start making the character, figure out how much you plan on the character casting spells that allow saving-throws, since the save DCs are set by wisdom, while actually being able to cast the spells (and getting bonus spells) is determined by Charisma. Favored Souls are possibly the only base class with a worse case of MAD than paladins, and if you can work with having crappy save DCs, it helps make that less of a problem. |

You can build a truly awe-inspiring melee fighter because you have all the buff spells, and can heal yourself if necessary. If you avoid offensive spells that have saves, you conserve stats as well, making for better Str and Con. You get Weapon Focus and Weapon Spec for free, and all sorts of energy resistances, which helps save you when you get hit with AOE nuke spells, always a full-plate wearer's biggest problem. Good saves all around are never a bad thing either. |

I think it might go good with a Halfling with it having a good Dex and +1 to thrown weapons plus don't forget the +1 luck to saves. At first level you could/should have at least a +4/5 to all of your saves. You might have your wife to check it out. As for another class I would personally stick to strait favored soul but if you must spread out take Marshall. |
