What are the requirements for the twilight armour modifier? [Archive] - Wizards Community

11-06-07, 11:47 PM Unfortunately it isn't clear from the LGCS what special abilities from the various source books are open or closed or what requisites they may have to use. The Twilight armour special ability (BoED & PHB2) for example. I can't tell if I can simply purchase armour with this, whether I can craft it or whether I need to satisfy a campaign event to open it. Where would I find this information?:confused:

11-07-07, 12:08 AM If it's not open, you can't get it without finding access. Easy as that. This information is in the LGCS.

To craft it with Craft Magic Arms and Armour, you need to have found access to an item with the twilight enhancement.

(Edit: The open list of magic items is also in the LGCS)

11-07-07, 11:49 AM If you have to ask whether something is Open or not after a proper review of the LGCS, then you already have your answer. It's not. The Twilight enhancement is referenced in the LGCS and therefore is not Open.

I'll have to assume that you're making a Gish since you're asking that question. Mithral access is never guaranteed for any character, but it's relatively common over the course of a character's lifetime. Mithral armors, combined with enough levels in Spellsword, should meet your needs.

Sidenote: I'm looking for Twilight too! Good luck!

You'll have to get access via meta-org or adventure record to Open it for you.

11-16-07, 12:37 PM I found twilight once. Unfortunately it was on a 32k value armor so not as useful as you'd think, although it was nice for the remainder of the adventure where we found it.

11-17-07, 05:09 PM My L14 sorceress just found access to a +1 twilight mithral chain shirt. It's the first time I've ever seen it, on any PC, in 200ish ARs (I have PCs at L15, L14, L10, L8, L4, L2 and L1). My sorc will probably buy it, too, even though she usually ignores armor class entirely (walks around with AC 13 at fourteenth level)... from the ability description, it's pretty armor ;) (Also, the same AR gave her access to put deathward on it.)

Not that surprising. Before PHB2 (and MIC) it was only printed in the Book of Exalted Deeds.

Ya, keep your chins up. I just found it in a year 7 regional, so perhaps it will start popping up more.
