| Gallaway04-23-07, 08:07 PM | I note occasional mention of a grandmaster class of GM on the website though I cannot see any links for a test for it. Does this class of membership exist yet? If so how many of these rare critters are actually out there? How do you recognise one? |
| Britt04-23-07, 08:11 PM | There were Grandmaster and higher levels in the old system. As far as I know, there has only been one person to pass the new Grandmaster test, because it was an internal test only :) AFAIK, there are no Grandmasters currently. |
| tvknight41504-24-07, 01:05 PM | I still have my old grandmaster RPGA card sitting around. Does that count for anything? Eric |
| kenobi6504-24-07, 01:15 PM | I still have my old grandmaster RPGA card sitting around. Does that count for anything? It gets you $1 off before 5pm at Old Country Buffet. ;) |
| Reylance04-24-07, 03:10 PM | I don't like the new RPGA membership cards. I keep an old one with me, the one that says "Paragon" and has my levels from the old points system. |

Was it as wrought full of trick questions and typos as the herald and master level tests were? :P |

| smerwin2904-24-07, 06:18 PM | But you could use your hands. |
| Mithreinmaethor04-24-07, 07:26 PM | Has anyone one seen the cards that are listed under your membership ? Log in like you are going to check your points. Instead of "View your activity" click the "GM, Memberships and Personal Information" link. There you will find a box that lists "Current Memberships". You can click on each and it shows a card with your name etc. The DCI number is your RPGA number with an extra 2 digits at the front. These are setup so you can print them. I am thinking of printing my players one and GM one and laminating them back to back and wearing them when I hit conventions. |
| kenobi6504-24-07, 09:21 PM | Has anyone one seen the cards that are listed under your membership ? Yeah, I saw those. I don't *want* them to make my DCI number my RPGA number with more digits. My DCI number is a 4-digit number. :D |
| JJeff04-24-07, 09:25 PM | I thought all you need to qualify for Grandmaster was to be a Master for 6 months and pass the test. I won't be taking the test ever though. I can't fulfil the requirements for sustaining the rank: "Facilitate six (6) game days or conventions in a 12-month period" ... Unless Retail games count... I'ver been running from a store. |
| Britt04-24-07, 09:26 PM | But the test isn't available, AFAIK. |
| Southernskies04-25-07, 12:50 AM | Grandmaster also requires an interview at a major convention. Used to meet all the pre-reqs; the i/v could have been an issue as we used to only have 1 person able to do the panel i/v. No idea what the current situation is. |
| Reylance04-25-07, 10:10 AM | Yeah, I saw those. I don't *want* them to make my DCI number my RPGA number with more digits. My DCI number is a 4-digit number. :D My DCI number was also four digits, but the DCI threw a "2000" in front of it, so now it's eight digits. |
