Wrong Scroll Price on AR? [Archive] - Wizards Community

I recently received an AR giving me adventure access to a scroll of lesser orb of acid and listing its price as 150 gp. But LOA is a 1st level spell. Does this mean:

a. This scroll is 7 times more expensive than an ordinary 1st level scroll.
b. The AR is wrong and the price for the scroll should be 25 gp, same as for any 1st level scroll without an expensive material component.
c. The CL for the scroll is 7th, so it'll do 4d8 damage instead of 1d8, and the price is right.
d. Something else.

The AR doesn't say anything about what the scroll's CL is, and it does call the spell by the wrong name. (It calls it 'Acid Orb (Lesser)', but it lists Complete Arcane as the source, and the spell in CAr is Orb of Acid, Lesser, iirc.)

For a metaregional or regional mod, ask the Triad Point of Contact of the region that issued the AR. The Triad folks may not know the answer for a metaregional, but they'll know whom to ask.

For a core mod, ask Creighton Broadhurst.

All of these e-mail addresses are listed in the LGCS.

Also check your maths: 150 / 25 = 6

Well I'd consider the matter moot, since Lesser Orb of Acid is now an open spell. Drop the 25 gold for a scroll, and the 100 gp to scribe it.

The OP could be playing a Sorcerer, without Scribe Scroll. It is more important in that situation - as scrolls of Lesser Orb of Acid aren't Open. In fact, even for a Wizard who wants to scribe it, this might be the only source without using a level-up slot.

That was my understanding too. I'm playing a wizard, and I want the scroll so I can get the spell without using a level-up slot. But I don't see any point in buying a CL 6th scroll that I'm going to use up copying into my spellbook.

A spell being Open does not make scrolls of that spell Open.
