| Platonix07-10-05, 02:00 AM | I have recently found need to introduce into my campaign a sylvan creature called the Actaeon. It hails from the Mystara campaign. I found a 3rd Ed. conversion at the Mystara info site the Vaults of Pandius. Now, the original Actaeon had an ability called summon woodland creatures. Roll d6 and consult the following table to see what you summon: 1 boar 2 bear 3 centaur 4 griffon 5 lizard (chameleon) 6 treant in d4 turns, d6 of that creature will arrive. The 3rd Ed. conversion for the Actaeon changed this to a Spell-Like ability: once per day, the Actaeon can cast call animals as a 12th-level druid. Peachy. Problem is, I can't find any description in any 3rd Ed. reference of a spell called call animals, and summon nature's ally is not an acceptable substitute. Can anyone shed some light on what may have been meant here? |

Besides, the ability wasn't as fleshed-out as a 3rd-Ed. spell needs to be...hm...actually, no, everything can be inferred because it's not a true spell, it's a spell-like ability. Still, it seems pretty clear to me that an actual druid spell was supposed to be referenced. |
