| Devin, The Rogue Princess02-02-06, 03:46 PM | Okay, for those you who who bought Races of the Dragon, you learned to the Dracolexi, and also got a few words that the word-obsessed prestige class can learn. However, the list is rather small. I was wondering if anyone was some ideas for additional words the Dracolexis can learn? Here's the list of words that have suggested so far: Devin, The Rogue Princess Vaess (Arrow)/ Minimum Lvl. 1st: The target of this draconic word is struck by a arrow of force, not unlike the magic missile spell. Like the magic missile spell, this arrow never misses, even if the target is in combat or has less than total cover/concealment. The arrow deals 1d4 damage for every two level of Dracolexi your character has (1d4 at 1st level, 2d4 at 3rd level, etc.). green_yawgmoth Gixustrat (Disembowel)/ Minimum Lvl. 10th: You may double the crit multiplier of any weapon touched by 2 (x2 becomes x4, x3 becomes x6, and so on). This effect lasts for 1 round/CL or until the weapon's wielder scores a critical hit. |
| Pasquirlio02-02-06, 05:54 PM | that one sounds even nastier than the level 10 word O.o |
| smrtgmp02-02-06, 06:05 PM | for a 1st level word, I would make it require an attack roll and/or change the damage output to 1d4/2 levels (probably both). I dont know that its better than the 10th level word, given that that can be used to apply a rather expensive metamagic feat to any fire spell for free. |
| Devin, The Rogue Princess02-03-06, 11:46 AM | Alright, that does sound better to make it 1d4/2 levels to a single target. Changing now... |
| Devin, The Rogue Princess02-03-06, 10:11 PM | Anyone have any ideas for the Draconic word "Vorel" (beautiful)? How about "Gixustrat" (disembowel)? ;) :D |
| green_yawgmoth02-04-06, 12:17 AM | Gixustrat: Minimum level 10th. You may double the crit multiplier of any weapon touched (x2 becomes x4, x3 becomes x6, and so on). This effect lasts for 1 round/CL or until the weapon's wielder scores a critical hit. A bit powerful, if I do say so myself. But you only get one 10th level word, you're not exactly going to go around touching weapons in the middle of combat, and the duration ensures that you're not going out and selling weapons you've worded, or that your party isn't able to word all of their weapons in the morning and just wait for something to need to be gutted. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v91/yawgmoth/kittyjig.gif |
| Devin, The Rogue Princess02-04-06, 11:49 AM | Sounds okay to me! It's added in the first post, now! |
| Devin, The Rogue Princess02-04-06, 03:37 PM | Hysvear (Soar)/ Minimum Lvl. 4th: The target of this draconic word can fly at a speed of 50 feet, and otherwise acts exactly as if sujected to the fly spell, except that the duration of this spell is 1 round per level of Dracolexi you have. I know I'm not going into detail , but I'm lazy at the moment. |
| green_yawgmoth02-04-06, 04:08 PM | Sjach (shadow) minimum level: 7th. If spoken within the area of a shadow, you gain the Hide in Plain Sight ability. This lasts until you leave the shadow, or the shadow is somehow destroyed (like a light spell coming too close to you). Tiathar (spawn of tiamat) minimum level: 7th. When this word is spoken, you summon a spawn of tiamat (half dragon dragonkith, or half dragon barbarian 4). It appears anywhere within 60 ft and attacks the nearest nonevil target until slain. Unlike other words, this is usable only 1/hour. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v91/yawgmoth/kittyjig.gif |

Unless I'm mistaken (I may be, I don't have RotD on me at the moment...), all of the words are supposed to be directed at something. Sjach can just be changed by saying "the target" instead of 'you', but I don't know about Tiathar... |

Tiathar could transform a target into a half chromatic dragon for say 1 round/dracolexi level, if you want them all to target something. Or it could add the half dragon template to a summoning spell at no extra cost. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v91/yawgmoth/kittyjig.gif |
