| DevilKiller03-29-07, 01:12 PM | Are there any 0 level sor/wiz spells which cause fire damage? If not are there any with the fire descriptor? |
| Chimaera200003-29-07, 01:17 PM | You can use the Energy Substitution feat from Complete Arcane to transform a ray of frost into a ray of fire, for what it's worth. |
| CantripN03-29-07, 01:19 PM | Not in the SRD nor in the SpC. Not that it's hard to tell what it'd do... 1d3 Fire damage as a ranged touch, 1d4+1 as a Touch or 1 point of Fire and set target on fire unless Ref DC 15 is passed with a touch. |
| DevilKiller03-29-07, 02:21 PM | Ok, I don't really want to take Elemental Substitution since there are plenty of fire spells at other levels. Thanks though. |
| OneWinged4ngel03-29-07, 02:24 PM | Unfortunately, I can't think of any core ones. However, making a new one is as simple as renaming Ray of Frost "Ray of Heat" or something like that. You might like the "Burning Talent" cantrip in my sig (Signature Cantrips link) |
| Warforged Goblin03-29-07, 02:27 PM | Heck, it's a cantrip, just make one up. Need names? Fire Ray Flame Bolt Ray of Scorch Matchstick Flickering Flame Ignite Elminster's Pipe Lighter Roasty Toasty |
| HermitIX03-29-07, 05:38 PM | In some book some where I read a use for prestidigitation was to make a 4" flame on the tip of your finger. |
| calvinNhobbes03-29-07, 06:12 PM | Independent Research A wizard also can research a spell independently, duplicating an existing spell or creating an entirely new one. Make one. |
| Loki565403-29-07, 07:40 PM | In some book some where I read a use for prestidigitation was to make a 4" flame on the tip of your finger. Its a great article from the Tome and Blood. (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/ex/20010707) Unfortunatley, there are two problems with it: 1) Its 3.0 so some DMs might not allow it. 2) The description never says it does any damage nor does the spell have the [Fire] descriptor anywhere. |
| Illithid_Tentacles03-30-07, 08:27 PM | Spark (Evocation) (Fire) Sor/Wiz 0 Range: 25 feet + 5 ft./level Duration: Inst. Effect: Ray SR: Yes Saving throw: No A line of fire emits from your finger, traveling along a straight line and dealing 1d3 points of fire damage to whatever (if anything) it hits. Hitting requires a range touch attack. The fire is not hot enough or present long enough to ignite anything less than a large, open barrel of oil, or something of equal or greater flammability. |
